I am tired of struggling with weight loss. It has come due to unhappiness and depression, having no willpower to hold back when I know I really don't want it. Today starts something new. I've already gotten down the eating healthier habits and exercising regularly, and I do feel better physically, more energy, etc. I've come to realize, however, this journey is not just about eating healthy or exercising regularly (although it is not bad that I have incorporated these things into my life). The journey includes that which is in the mind. Today starts a new focus on making myself happier, not worrying or dwelling so much on things I cannot change, and focusing more on myself. Let's see where this new road takes me.

Hello everyone! My name is Jennifer, most call me Jenn. I have been lucky enough to be thin most of my life, until about 4 years ago, when I underwent two back surgeries (one surgery to remove a tumor, the other surgery to fix a screw up from the first surgery - two surgeries in two weeks on my back). It took a while to recover, so I think that's when my laziness and excuses started. In 2007, I got out of the Navy (military police), and found a job in accounting (desk), so I went from being really active, to rarely moving. I also have a wonderful husband that cooks delicious foods (he, of course, is only 145 lbs). So that's my tragic "how I got fat" story...lazy and full of excuses.

In January (before SP), my sister-in-law took a picture of me loading jet skis in the water. When I saw it, I was horrified -- I couldn't believe it was me!! I started checking other recent photos--holy crap!! It was me! Then I weighed myself, and being 5'4", I weighed in at 179 (calculated BMI - OBESE!!). I had never ever ever in my life ever worried about this, or ever thought I would be here...but I was.

This is what motivated me to start my journey! I have come down from there, but I still have a long way to go! Luckily for me, I am learning so much about health and fitness, and I know I will succeed!!

Continuing my journey to a healthier me, I have now been blessed with a baby growing inside me. I am still eating as healthy as i can, exercising when my body allows.

    The picture of me and the red/black bike was taken behind
    the mall, in front of the lake. There is a plethora of Canadian
    Geese, and ducks in assorted colors who live down here full time.
    When it is colder weather a lot of folks take bread and things
    down and feed them.
    I have had the geese eat bread out of my hand.

    The lake is manmade I think, and of course is fed by the Coosa...
    Holler anytime....sorry about your 883. I dropped mine a couple
    times.

    David said to tell you (after I told him about your 883 incident)
    that backwards is more fun than sideways.

    The story is some guy he was riding with hit something in the
    road and spun him around, and he went backwards for a short
    distance and then flipped.

    He also had some woman approach him on base once, and she
    asked if he rode fast....he said on occasion.....she said well, I want
    to ride a motorcycle just once and do 140......so David said well, I
    guess I can do that and off they went. She was also in the military
    and he said he hit 140, and showed her and she signaled thumbs
    up and he slowed and they went back to base..LOL.........
