    Thanks for commenting, Gary. Been playing guitar most of my life; no flash, just try to play to the song as best I can. Cut my teeth on the Stones, classic & southern/country rock. Family Life Church was my first experience playing in a worship setting and enjoy the environment. My wife and I left that church recently and are currently looking for a new church home. After 35 years in music retail (25 running our own business) we've just retired and are trying to figure out the "new normal". More time for guitar and exercise! Best on your music and SP journeys! Hi. Welcome to the musicians group. I play bass in one of our churches bands. We mostly play Celtic music. See you are a guitar player. I pick a little guitar and banjo. Just north of you a little in Hillsboro. See you play in church band also. What kind of music do you play for fun? emoticon

    "In A Bleak Midwinter"

    In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
    Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
    Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
    In the bleak midwinter, long ago.

    Our God, heaven cannot hold Him, nor earth sustain;
    Heaven and earth shall flee away when He comes to reign.
    In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed
    The Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ.

    Enough for Him, Whom cherubim, worship night and day,
    Breastful of milk, and a mangerful of hay;
    Enough for Him, Whom angels fall before,
    The ox and ass and camel which adore.

    Angels and archangels may have gathered there,
    Cherubim and seraphim thronged the air;
    But His mother only, in her maiden bliss,
    Worshipped the beloved with a kiss.

    What can I give Him, poor as I am?
    If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
    If I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
    Yet what I can I give Him... give my heart.

    One of my favorite Christmas hymns. Let us remember the baby in the manger who came to give us life, as we celebrate this season.
