I'm 34, newly married as of May, 2015, and expecting our first baby in May of 2016! When I got pregnant (purposely) I was worried about weight gain, but have been assured by a great nurse and a doctor already that because of my weight, I do not need to gain 1 pound. If I do, I do, but I don't have to make myself gain weight just because I'm pregnant! I've actually been losing weight. I've gone from 295 pre-pregnancy weight to 285 now in my 10th week of pregnancy.

I was a frequent user of sparkpeople for a long time, and now more than ever am hoping to get back to it. My main goal will be to get 5,000 steps or more per day....I have fibromyalgia, so 10k is not feasible most times. And to get back to doing Yoga daily! I'm used to doing it with the Wii, and we do not have the house set up in a way that that's workable at the moment, but hopefully soon!!

I'm not going to overwork myself while I'm pregnant...that was never a good plan for me anyway. Slow and steady wins the race, right?

My Program:
I'm going to try to be more social on here, so please don't hesitate to friend me! I Need to build up a support group, and also be able to give support! So with a combo of all of that, I am hoping to drop these pounds as soon as HEALTHILY possible! And I'm well aware this may take about 2 years.

    emoticon Try the Japanese Art of Kai-Zen. It is based on the fact that the HARDEST part of doing anything is GETTING STARTED. Thus, you set a timer for ONE MINUTE. Yes, just ONE minute and then you start- whatever, exercise, picking up the laundry, whatever. When the timer goes OFF, you can stop. Give yourself credit for DOING the task and go on. No more arguments in your head about how you are a failure, etc. The next day, set the timer again, and do ONE MINUTE. IF you decide to do more, so be it. You can, but your are NOT required to do more than ONE MINUTE. Celebrate. Tell yourself all the nice things you can. Continue this each day.
    This works for children as well.

    I use this to empty the dish drainer. Why at 70 years old do I still hate that task? Well, it was my "chore" as a child. I wasn't trusted with washing dishes, because my mother was sure I wouldn't do them well enough to please her. So, I still have an issue, but I find when the timer goes OFF, I finish the task. Kai-Zen works for everything.

    Hi. Welcome back. If you want/need a little push...consider joining us for an 8 week challenge. Why not join the X-WEIGHTED CHALLENGE? We're all ages, all fitness levels, all striving to live a healthier life. There is always something to learn from each other. These teams are also a great source of motivation! We can become healthier by working together and making new friends as we go. We compete in weekly nutrition and fitness challenges. It is similar to the Biggest Loser team. There are 3 teams that compete within the X-Weighted team. We do ATC (All Teams Challenge) various challenges (nutrition, fitness etc.) The main requirement is to post your weight weekly. The ATC challenges and/if individual teams have challenges are optional (however, very beneficial). If you have any questions, please let me know.
