Looking to connect for support. Tired of giving up on myself, and every day I'm trying to make healthy changes to my lifestyle. I live in a small town in Alberta and I like to stay in. It's not unusual for me to not leave the house for an entire week during the winter. I'm really working on myself: body, mind, soul. I have been challenging myself in different ways lately; I've been trying to get out of my comfort zone and so far I've gained a lot from it. I've realized I feel best when I push my limits so I will keep it up. I'm following a low carb lifestyle to success as this seems to jive well with my medical issues (PCOS/Pre-diabetes) and it makes me feel great. Let's connect...especially if you're in to the moon, the earth, the stars, and working on yourself.

-No processed foods

My first goal is to get below 300 lbs. I haven't seen those numbers in a while.

My Program:
Limited carbs
Balanced meals every day
Eat breakfast!

Wake up - Drink 8oz cold water
No honey in my tea
Eat lots of fresh veggies
Prepare food ahead of time, including weighing out portions - no more eyeballing.
Eat when I'm hungry, not when I'm bored.

Personal Information:
I'm a business owner, recently moved to a very small town. I still don't know anyone and I find it very hard to make new friends here. I work from home so I tend to not get out much. I'm trying to change that.

My business gives me the opportunity to meet like-minded women, which I love. I have made so many great friends from working for myself. I am able to make a living while improving lives for women and children, and their communities, around the world. I love my job and I love making a difference.

Other Information:
I have passion.

I spend my days crafting and indulging myself with my hobbies. I am very fortunate to have been allowed the opportunity to leave the rat race to pursue my dreams.

I live with my partner and our cat in a quiet, little town.

I am a proud feminist, I participate in activism and I fight for the equality of people everywhere. (Don't mistake feminism for man-hating. I love many men, I just want to be paid the same amount for doing the same job, etc.)

    Although the majority of us have been down this road before and failed, we have to admire our own tenacity and personal fortitude in coming back and not giving up.

    I quit smoking 20 years ago but had dozens of failed attempts before I finally succeeded. Here's hope that this is the time that we find our groove and reach our goals.

    Found something that may work..because you're adding other flavors besides the banana flavor, and it's REAL EASY!

    You freeze the bananas, put them in a food processor (I use a blender) and you can add other flavors to it, Cherry flavoring with vanilla added; cocoa; blueberries;'s really easy and may help. (there's lots of others listed too.) Oh and peanut butter you can add to them too, for a smoothie..sounds good, now I'm hungry *L* have a great day, and I hope this helps a little!

    I'm not too sure about how to not make banana's taste like banana's...frozen ones still taste like bananas, banana bread, but add pineapple or some other fruit to it maybe? Or burnt that one was just to see if you're paying attention. :D Couldn't resist.

    If I think of anything I'll post it, but right now I'm coming up blank, but then people do use cauliflower instead of potatoes and people don't realize it's possible!

    Anyway, have a great trip on your (yep, my new word) Rainbow Journey, one which will lead you down that beautiful path to the pot of gold at the end. You'll get there, WE'LL get there and learn so much along the way. The most beautiful journey you'll ever take, never forget!

    Hello again, I loved the Sister comment, that was so sweet, thank you, and we are sisters, working towards the same goal. :) I'm glad you liked my new word for the day, I'm so enjoying it. I'm trying to make up a word a day...not sure how that'll go, but hey, I'm trying.

    We had to go get a small tv for the bedroom, and they're expensive! But took me a while and I got it connected back up to everything (VCR, DVD, Antenna), then it wasn't working, but I messed around with it enough that I did get the channels working and everything else. I'm a "hands-on" type of person who needs to do it that way in order to get it going.

    You are very welcome, that's what we're here for, encouragement and friendship, I'm so glad I could bring both to you, and thankful for yours too. Just keep remembering about not dwelling on the slip ups, because that'll only bog you down, and you don't need, nor want that.

    We usually go to church on Sat evening, then out to eat with my mom and sister afterwards. We have a wonderful time together, and I really enjoy it. Other than that, I think just cleaning the house, all that fun stuff. *L*

    That meal idea is an excellent one, way to go!! You should be all set then, it works perfectly for you!

    I love to snack on Cauliflower since I started here, I loved it before, but now I so look forward to it, I also have peanut butter on the pretzel chips, popcorn with butter salt. I've gotten so I'm so full, it's even hard to snack anymore, but I do it, for the diet part. Never thought I'd eat more on SP as I do..I really love it, and drinking the water, I never feel hungry.

Look in the mirror, you'll see one motivation that'll never leave you..the beautiful you that is both inside and outside. Nurture her and don't let her down, or if you do, get right back up and try again, this time with more determination.
