    Just wanted to stop by and welcome you to SparkPeople and to the 50+ Females team.

    This is a great team; from the team members, you'll get a lot of support, motivation, encouragement and even the occasional boot to get you movin' in the right direction. I've found that one of the best ways to get to know your team members is to pick a thread of interest, start at the bottom of the page and read to the top; along the way, stop by some of the members' pages to read their blogs and posted comments. Make sure you leave them a message to let them know you stopped by for a visit. (Warning, this method is very, very addictive and time consuming; so, don't try to do it all in one sitting. I've learned I've had to limit my visiting time.)

    In the past, I've lost large amounts of weight, only to regain it, plus more. So this time, I'm taking it at a slower pace and trying to make my changes more permanent. I've learned to look at this as a journey to a healthier lifestyle, with weight loss as only one of the many rewards.

    SparkPeople has provided the tools that will help accomplish this goal. So, make sure you use the nutrition and fitness trackers, drink eight to twelve cups of water daily (though other liquids count, plain ol' water is best) and get eight hours of sleep nightly. These four items are key to the journey; try to work on them all at the same time.
