I joined SP three years ago and while I had great success in the early days, I fell off the wagon - so now it is time to climb back on!! Ready to be challenged and ready to get serious again. I am fairly fit (Zumba four times a week plus other activities) but need to be in a controlled environment and also focus on my diet, which I now know needs to be geared towards lowering my cholesterol.


Welcome to my SparkPage. My name is Jackie and I am lucky enough to live in Bermuda. Join me in my quest to lose 50 pounds and become healthier and fitter before I reach the big 5-0! That's fifty before fifty!

It is early days yet but I am finding SparkPeople so useful and motivating, with so many great resources at my fingertips.

Fitness Minutes: 72,327

My Goals:
My main goal is to be at 150 pounds or less by my 50th birthday in January 2011. I am going to set myself goals and rewards in 10lb chunks (appropriate word, lol). At the start of the year I was setting myself a time frame of 10lbs every 10 weeks but I have soon come to find that this is not realistic, and only adds to the stress of trying to lose weight. And we all know that stress has the opposite effect! So time to step back and just lose as and when I can and not put so much pressure on myself. Just look forward to the rewards.

My Program:
So here is my plan - to track my nutrition and fitness every day on SP and to compete in SP challenges to make myself accountable. I will not deprive myself and will allow treats (such as wine with dinner on Saturday, chocolate a couple of times a month).

My REWARDS for meeting my GOALS for 2010.

SW (Jan 2nd 2010) 189

180 reward - manicure (DONE! May 21st 2010)

170 reward - pedicure

160 reward - spa day

150 reward - new wardrobe

And then decide whether to maintain or whether I need to lose a bit more.

Personal Information:
I am English, but have lived in Bermuda since 1994, when I applied for a job (I am in IT) which was supposed to be for two years but here I am, still here!

Other Information:
Love to read(crime thrillers, murder mystery type of thing), cook and travel.

Have also just discovered how much I love to exercise, although I think I knew deep down, Just never committed much time to it until the last few months.

    hi Jackie long time no see, I had no computer for seeral months. I had gained back 10 lbs. from my goal I had almost reached. I am once again within 5 lbs. I hope to set my next goal so it is a little less daunting. I find it so much easier to keep in control when I can track with sparks and share my friends support. I HOPE YOU ARE DOING FINE, WISHING THE LBS MELT OFF YA LIL., zoe emoticon

    Hi Jackie,

    Just wanted to update you on my bringing my stability ball to work and using as an office chair. I have a 65mm ball and the height was good. I would use my chair for 2 hours at a time then switch to the ball. I could tell the difference in some muscles. I will continue using the ball off and on.
