Hi, this is pretty unrelated to Spark but I was looking at your website and I wanted to recommend Wix.com for a site builder. I am using it for my wedding website (I am getting married next year) but I noticed when we were looking for a photographer a LOT of them had built their sites on Wix. You can build everything for free and you only have to pay if you want a site name without the wix part in it, which you might want to do at some point but at least it lets you check it out for free :) 3887 days ago

In all honestly, no, I don't think 5 pounds is enough for most exercises. Some shoulder and tricep exercises it probably is, but the others probably not. If you are able to go past 15 reps with 5 pounds, you need to add more weight. I could not look like I do if I didn't lift like I do.
Like I said, you can take a look at my logs. The link is on the top right of my page ("shared food and exercise logs")- that's what I am doing on light days, easing back in from surgery. If you go back about 4 weeks you can see what I do when I am working out full-bore.
We women aren't going to build enough muscle to get bulky. We don't have enough testosterone to do that. I blog about it in my blog "The incredible Hulk Woman". You can get to it through my blogs, or copy and paste this, if you can: http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_j ournal_individual.asp?blog_id=3012005
I'm not sure if you consider me bulky or not, but I lift heavy and hard. Today and yesterday were light days, as they were my first back in the gym post-surgery, but you can look at my shared food and exercise logs to get an idea of what I lift when I'm taking it easy.
When I'm up full steam, generally I lift enough weight that by the time I get to 15 reps I can't do anymore in proper form. I'm getting ready to start trying to add serious muscle to my glutes and thighs, so will probably bring my reps down to 10-12, still trying to max by the last rep.
Does that tell you what you wanted to know? 3902 days ago
So happy to see that you are back at it! Married life is going well. He's such a gem. Our kids are sure putting us through the paces though. They are all going in a different direction at once and with the end of school being upon us, yikes! Busy busy cramming in every last play, recital, soccer game, and pageant. (Yeah my step daughter is going to state for a pageant in the Miss America series.) CRAZY! Lots of prayer and deep breaths are getting me through. lol! Next week looks like things will lighten up as I still need to really buckle down. 3903 days ago
