Perseverance will win.

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go... Dr. Seuss - Jane

There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when circumstance permit. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results."
~ Art Turock

A motivational quote plagiarised from spark entry.
See your goal
Understand the obstacles
Clear your mind of doubt
Create a positive mental picture
Embrace the challenge
Stay on track
Show the world you can do it!

You can never get so far away from your goal weight that you cannot get to it.

There are some difficulties for me when it comes to success in losing weight. Hypothyroidism, creaky sore joints and insulin resistance would be the main ones! And they create a strong barrier. It is easy to lose the initial weight for maybe 2 weeks and then it bounces back, in spite of continuing with reduced calories. I am taking levothyroxin...

Thanks so much for your comment on my page. Patience is tough. I am not terribly patient, although more patient than some of my family mem bers I have noticed. It's tough to be patient when you are being so good and want that weight to come off RIGHT NOW. I will admit, as I got closer to interim and even my ultimate goal, I would rev up the exercise, and cut the calories back. It worked! But for the long haul, I was grateful for a pound or two loss every week.

I think the most important thing to remember is that there is no real FINISH line. It's not a DIET this time. We have to change our way of life to keep the weight off even after we lose it. We can never revert back to that old way of eating that led to the obesity. That was the whole difference in my thinking this time. In the past I couldn't wait to be done dieting, so I could eat again. WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!

Everyday it is a struggle to not overeat, but everyday I tell myself "I'm doing it, I'm doing it." It's my new mantra and I also come to Spark every single day, cause this place keeps me motivated and inspired. I hope I can inspire you, as everyone here inspires me, including YOU!
