Introduction Text Life is most certainly a roller coaster ride! ... Dec 29th will be my 66th birthday~ HURRAY! Before SP, I went from size 22 to size 14-16 on my own. Then crazy things happened... SP has been a godsend since 2007... ***It is Memorial Day, 2019, and I am celebrating it alone at home after surgery for cancer. A different one from 2010... and life goes one... It is my second surgery for this round. The first was the 29th of April, the biopsy that found the cancer. So far, totally different from the last, except for the pain afterward... LOL ***in January 2010, I was on steroids for, a bit and LOST weight (?!) but when I went OFF them--I gained back 40 pounds! And the inches came back with them! Yikes! LOL ... I lost most of it again--and then, colon cancer,diagnosed 4/26/2010. As of August 2010, I was in remission-- But my weight?? There have been side effects... LOL My continuing challenges are to gain strength, flexibility, energy, and overall health--instead of pounds--with a host of health obstacles: diabetes, neuropathy, chronic kidney disease, fibromyalgia, sleep apnea, something labeled "undifferentiated connective tissue disease"...add the aftermath of five other non-cancer-related surgeries, two major vitamin deficiencies, and a kidney-related version of GOUT... plus a "minor" case of asthma... not to mention, cataracts... And... I am waiting for the results of a DNA test to identify whether I have defective "repair genes" that can cause unrelated multiple primary cancers! Charming, right? LOL It's called Lynch syndrome... In the middle of all this, I've been able to attend church fairly regularly, my laptop crashed, again and again, I got and spent a windfall in the form of a 401K I didn't even know existed but had to spend most of it or lose it, and I'm settled into my new home thanks to my previous landlord NOT paying his mortgage. The bank said "Everybody out!..." Facing a similar situation since the landlord in my 4yrs "new" housing just raised the rent to 85% of my income... All this would make a great melodrama, don't you think? LOL I love my church,and my Lord Jesus Christ. I love SP, the people, the teams, the tools-- It's SO nice to have such positive influences... Life is all about change, and I plan to continue making great changes with the help of SP and all my friends, on earth and elsewhere... ... the more the merrier! Every morning I wake up... is a GOOD DAY! LOL

When I found out my Lean body mass is 137 pounds (?!) My goal was less than that--no wonder I was having problems with what I was eating!--my nutrition specialist said I wasn't eating enough, and I had to reset my goals! LOL Makes it easier though--now I have less to lose, 5 pounds at a time--instead of a whopping big number! LOL I am still working toward: More stamina. More energy. More LIFE to love!

I reset my ticker every year on my birthday, to track yearly progress: my plan is to use the nutrition, fitness and other goals trackers daily~or as often as I am allowed access~ not only for better health but with unrelated goals as well. I am continuing to study what I can about the specific needs of my own body, and integrating new precepts with my health protocols will continue to be a challenge LOL I will find creative ways to work with my medical issues and disabilities. I will post online as often as possible, and TRY to stay informed. LOL ...and oh, yes... *** I'M GOING TO LEARN TO PLAY AGAIN! ***

I am disabled, receiving government benefits...praying they will continue!... and finally DOING the things I love that I can still do, especially singing! And I'm still teaching myself to play my "new" antique piano! A friend gave me the Children's Song Book for Christmas, and it's so much fun to play the lovely, simple melodies... I've had a few of my poems published, but a hard drive crash ate my first attempt at a novel... As much as I'm able I'm using my love of set design, building, etc, to create a bright, serene environment for myself and my three furbabies, Licorice, Isis and Amigo. Licorice and Isis are cool, bonded since 2007... You can read my past blogs for more on Amigo--he's amazing!...I love the Renaissance, fantasy and sci-fi conventions; theatre and music events; reading, especially Tolkien--but several yrs ago I was blind for 6 wks and now have the beginning of cataracts... I can only do visually intense things in small doses... I'm SO grateful to be able to see

I live in Tacoma, Washington, which is in the greater--and WETTER-- Seattle area... LOL In 2012, after 22 yrs together, my DXH left... Oddly enough, still friends. He moved back to WA from TX in 2016, and has been doing a lot of the driving for me so I can heal after surgery on my hand--and has moved into the apartment next door! An interesting twist... still thinking I should write a melodrama or soap opera...LOL I have cats (2 males, 1 female--pics in my gallery) The older two were a gift from DXH before the split, and pure joy. My other little one was feral in 2010; now he lives inside--he's adjusted well, but spooks and runs to hide under the covers on my bed when any thing new occurs. We're happy in our home and he loves to cuddle in the mornings-- I am working on ways to make it work so I can stay here. So much joy to life... the sorrows only show me how much we are loved; without sadness we would never appreciate what we have!... Life is full of challenges, and oppo

P.S. I looked up enthusiasm, and it says the root words mean God within... interesting...! Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But I don't think you have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too!
