Thank you SO much for your super helpful and detailed answer to my question about training for the half. You were the only one that gave me a specific plan WITH mileage numbers that are safe and do-able. I think I'm definitely going to go with your plan! Thank you!!!

Thanks, Helen. I'm thinking that is what I'm going to have to do (go to a tri store and try stuff on). I have one here in town, though I'm not nuts about the owner and his business methods. Not horrible....just....different. Anyway, thanks for your input on my question. Have a great race season!

Helen - thanks for commenting on my tri blog. I found out late last night that the swim course WAS mismarked - it was 200 meters (almost 50%) longer than it should have been (they put the buoys out too far)! If that's true, then my swim would have been closer to 11 minutes. I wasn't so much hung up on my time as I was that I came in 10th in my age group for the swim. I wanted to be better than that, but since I don't do a lot of swimming, I guess I should be pretty happy with my performance. Thanks for reminding me about the Bodyglide for the shoes. I was aware of that, and in fact, thought about it (and even had some with me), but since I hadn't tried that in training I figured I'll just use the socks. The woman who finished 7th finished 1 minute ahead of me, so there was the possibility that I could have had a chance for 7th instead of 8th - she caught me on the run with less than a mile to go. It would have been close!
