WELCOME to my HealthyBarb page! My word for 2018 is Resiliency.
I have been on a sparktacular journey for almost 8 years. During my 1st 2 years I lost 35 pounds, lowered my blood pressure and experienced more energy. The last 6 years have been filled with health issues and life changes but even if the road is challenging I will not stop in my commitment to reaching my goal weight!

I have been on a sparktacular journey for almost 8 years. During my 1st 2 years I lost 35 pounds, lowered my blood pressure and experienced more energy. The last 6 years have been filled with health issues and life changes but even if the road is challenging I will not stop in my commitment to reaching my goal weight!
Most recently I became very ill & the treatment involved surgery to remove My thyroid & a large nodule. I am now on a journey to tweak my diet to support weight loss with new medication & slower metabolism with a goal to design a new lifestyle that supports a healthy me for the longterm.
My journey goals continue to be to change my body to be healthier and my life to be more simplified. I am enjoying the results of my time with sparkpeople learning and exercising and eating healthy and seeking to see my clothes fit better on a cuter body! I love that there is one site that continues to motivate me to set goals, track my daily life choices and be accountable. Even with the challenges of no thyroid, fibromyalgia and autoimmune issues I continue to seek to enjoy each new season of life as my body is becoming healthier. I remain committed to keep working on my weight loss goals for 2018 and beyond.
I love Sparkpeople.com and have found a place filled with friends and encouragement that has made staying on this get healthy path not only doable but fun!! Lifestyle change for the long run that results in a healthy me is my commitment to myself!!

My Goals:
1. Eat healthy and increase Fiber, Protein & Healthy Fats while keep my carbs in the lower range and monitoring calories.
2. Lose weight and keep it off. Slow and steady and consistent seem to work best for me.
3. Keep motivated with daily exercise plan .
4. Make long term healthy life changes and make a get healthy bucket list.
5. Keep my commitment to each Challenge Season with the Teddy Bears!!
My Program:
1. Ride recumbent bike or do aerobic exercise daily for 60 mins.
2. Do fibromyalgia stretches 5x weekly.
3. Use Twister board weekly and BP stress balls 3x weekly.
4. Use weights and walk for strengthening and bone density 3 - 4x weekly.
5. Daily log my nutrition and exercise on sparkpeople.
Personal Information:
Love spending time with my hubby and enjoy being mom to two beautiful daughters and son in love.
Love to read.
Enjoy cooking, going out to eat, walking at the ocean and being out in nature.
Love to camp in our trailer and visit Cannon Beach, Vashon and Whidbey Islands.
