I discovered fitness at the age of 29 because although I was skinny, I was weak. I was the anti-athlete. However, not being able to fit in pre-pregnancy clothes forced me to make a choice. New (bigger) wardrobe or join a gym. I joined a gym. I could not run one mile at a 13:00/mile pace.

From ages 29 to 46, I worked out and ran lots and lots. Then all of a sudden, I felt burned out. I didn't work out much, ate a lot, and wound up weighing what I did when I was 7 months pregnant with my first son. 127.

So at 47, I set a goal to return to optimal running shape.
I recommitted myself to a regular exercise plan that included running, walking, and lifting weights. I wanted to set a good example for my children, who are all teenaged and up. I reached my goal weight of 115 on September 8, 2017.

While trying to accomplish the weight loss, I also began working full-time again (for the first time in 21 years) at a local public school. My new goal is to find a work-life balance that is fulfilling and life-giving, while maintaining my exercise regimen and not giving in to the binge eating that comes with stress.

My Goals:
To get back my "Boston Body" from when I BQ'd (qualified for the Boston Marathon in 2010)
To get my buff arms back - especially important now that I'm performing again - and in sleeveless dresses!

My Program:
Running 4x per week.
"Walking Wednesday"
Lifting 2-3x per week.

Personal Information:
I enjoy running, hiking, piano, camping, cooking, and learning languages.
I speak French and Spanish and would like to learn Slovak and German.
