I started Spark People back in 2008 and used both Weight Watchers and Spark People as my support and dietary programs. At that time I started with a weight of 255 and with the combination of the two programs, I lost weight rapidly and soon had lost 80 pounds. Then life happened. At that time I started with a weight of 255 and with the combination of the two programs, I lost weight rapidly and soon had lost 80 pounds. Then life happened. I had lots of stumbling blocks and some were devastating and I soon fell off my programs and fell back into old habits and regained my weight. I have had multiple do-overs and time outs but keep coming back as something tells me that I need the support that I get here to be able to reach my goals. Failure is only when I give up totally and that is something I have not done yet. I recently quit Weight Watchers as I felt that it no longer had anything to offer me- they kept changing their program every year or so to get members to buy the "new and improved" gadgets and mainly talked about apps in the meeting... I don't have a smart phone so talking about apps was of no use to me... I have floundered since quitting WW trying to find a healthy diet program that fits me... thought that after years of being on WW that I could do it on my own so just tried mindful eating... yeah right... portion control not my best suit and WW didn't really stress that with the no points foods and all you want of fresh fruits and veggies but "stop when you are full but not stuffed" thought pattern.... don't know about other people but I go from hungry to stuffed with no in between.
Have found a book called "5 Factor diet" by Harley Pasternak that I have started reading and following... not the diet I will follow forever as I don't agree with some of his thought processes but it is jump starting my recovery post WW. It has you eating 5 meals a day (3 meals and 2 snacks) and each meal has to include protein, fiber, carbohydrate, fat, water..... serving size is stressed and if lettuce container says 1 cup then 1 cup it is even if that amounts to only 10 calories... I buy mine in bags and used to make big salads and use all 4 cups as base of salad while adding other fresh veggies.... not right now.....

Love your page colors. The virtual walking is cool. I was up visiting my mom in Linden area close to your area. Have a great start to the challenge.
