Hello my name is Ginette. I am 39 and Diabetic. I was in a head on collision, July 1, 2009, and am out of work in recovery, and not able to return. I am no longer able to do the job I did for 15+ years. Since the accident I have learned more than ever that I love to cook and love to eat!!! My diabetic doctor last visit was unhappy with my weight and pretty much told me to do something about it. I am concerned he will send me to a nutritionalist. I am not good with people controlling my food or routines. I know I can do this. I have done it before on weight watchers. I was down to 17 over my goal. I joined because a friend said this was good and interesting. I am hoping to meet others with similar goals, needs and motivation. Maybe even local to my area for exercise groups or something!

Since joining I have meant many motivating people and learned that support here is huge. My friend was underestimating when she talked me into joining. There is a huge amount of people with great knowledge here, so many connections. I was so impressed I was motivated to start a team and bring people over from one I sponsored. Anyone is welcome to join! I love the team. We have motivation talk, each month we have a 30 days to something, we have individual calorie burn challenges, virtual challenges as split groups and individualized, we have a nice support system going. The team has taught me a lot. I never meant a more varied group. We are all into various things. People have even gotten others in the group to try there routines! We now have 3 or 4 couch25k people, physical therapy exercisers, walkers, runners and wii fitters. I am having a great time here. Spark has really kept me going and motivated. Good luck to us all on this long journey! We can do this.

The best motivation always comes from within first. Dig deep and it is always there. Failures will do what is tension relieving while winners do what is goal achieving. COME BE A WINNER WITH ME! Get that body moving. Love spark!

Fitness Minutes: 10,057

My Goals:
I would like to eventually get down to 110 lbs. This one I have set for Feb 28, 2011. Update, I am probably going to have to move this further out. :(

I would love to see a size 5 on my body again. (what are single digits?)

I would love to weigh 32.5lbs less by August 2, 2011, so I look as wonderful than as I did 3 years ago in that wedding dress.

I would like to see exercise become a more consistent and desired thing in my life again, but safely. (explain later)

I want to learn to be happy with myself, both in and out.

I want to learn to enjoy various things in life.

I would like to back track and see what I did when I was losing here, and what I was doing when I wasn't. I want to get back on track with my weight watchers and stay in my point range there and calorie range here.

I want to try to burn a minimum of 350 calories per day.

My Program:
I am on the weight watchers point program. I measure my food portions, I calculate the points based on fiber, calories and fat. I need to get back into this. Currently I've been trying to stay in calorie range here on Spark.

Diabetically, I calculate my carbs and calories per day.

I am starting to become consistent walking at least 3 times a week.

I want to get back into my Wii Fit exercises again!!

I am going to do my physical therapy exercises here at home.

I am married for a third time, yes third, to a better man than I've picked before. We bought our first home March 27, 2009.

I have a very energetic miniature long haired dachshund named Ozzy Cooper, born August 2, 2009. Lol. We were looking for a dog born around my surgery on my arm to name him after Cooper medical center. Instead we found Ozzy born on our church wedding day, 2 years later. Hence Ozzy from a singer we enjoy, mostly me I think lol, and Cooper from the Hospital as a reminder to me of things I should find important in my life! Or if you want to make it Ozzy Osbourne and Alice Cooper so be it we like that too. We have a Sun Conure named Sunny, and a Cockatiel named Pavlovia, (was Pavlov until she laid eggs, lol)
Before the accident I use to be very passionate about proving that I could do anything I put my mind to, even if I felt discouraged.

Other Information:
My Ozzy keeps me on my toes and knows where his leash is. He can make me walk even when I don't want to.
I love various music, Ozzy, Metallica, Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Billy Joel, Elton John, Daughtry, Adam Lambert just to name a minimal few. lol.
Since the accident I don't focus as well reading, but I am showing improvement. I am in a book club! I love Nicholas Sparks, VC Andrews, Stephen King, Harlan Coben. Wide array more.

    Things are going well on the diet front thanks for asking. I've lost a lb so far since I started back with Spark on the 4th of April :)

    Thanks for the comment and advice on my blog. Sounds like you know what I'm talking about. This is the longest I have gone without giving in. I do like the idea of calling and letting her know the guidelines. It's like she wants me to choose between her and my daughter.

    DDR3 is Dance Dance REvolution 3 for Wii. I have the card challenge posted on the team Spark Daily under challenges. Go to my page and click on the Spark Daily team. It is a smaller group of people, but very supportive and under challenges, I have the deck of cards challenge.
