I am a Vietnam Era Veteran & an Ordained minister. My late husband was a Vietnam Veteran who had spent a couple years in Vietnam. He also was an Ordained minister. We had been married almost 21 years when he died very unexpectedly. We were raising 3 of our Grandchildren whom I still have. They have kept me going even on my worse days. My granddaughter is now 20 she is the oldest. The middle one is my grandson who is 19. Then the youngest a grandson also is 17. We have had them since they were babies.
It was and is a challenge and we take it one day at a time.

Wow it is hard to believe that SparkPeople will be gone in a couple months. It has been great being able to come here and make friends and learn new things. My kiddo's are growing up and My almost 20 year old grandson is engaged to be married next year. My Granddaughter who will be 21 soon is studying Law and of course the youngest will be 18 and a senior in high school come September. The Grandson who is engaged has moved out on his own. Well I wish everyone well on their journeys.. Hopefully we can take the lessons learned here into our future. Blessings and Hugs to y'all

As the 7th anniversary approaches of my hubby's death I have been having a rough time. The two oldest grandkids have graduated. All three are working. The youngest starts his junior year in Sept. We had to move in March. The house we are in is not a good fit but we are trying to make it work. I have a year lease.

August 5, 2016 update

Thought I would put a new note in here. We are doing okay here in Hanover. Have not found a place to buy but the person I am renting from has put the house up for sale. But I have found another place to rent. In fact we will be renting the same house we had been in before our move to Kansas City. The tenants that were there are moving out the 7th of this month. I will be moving in on the 20th. Mixed emotions but I have been told they made changes. I will be going through the house on the 8th. It is possible it will need to be painted. So we will see what happens. Kids will soon be starting school and having birthdays.

December 27, 2015 update

Hello friends.. Well I thought I would let you know that I made a major change in our lives.. The end of Sept this year we left Kansas City Missouri and returned home to Hanover Pennsylvania. Renting a house right now but looking for one to buy. It has been a little harder than I thought it would be and sometimes I doubt my decision to come back home. But then other times I am glad to be back. Life without Tom by my side is not easy. But I am still taking one day at a time. I still cry and ask God why but we are hanging in there. We just went through our third Christmas without him. It is still hard.

VERSE 1 (x2)
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus' Name

Christ alone Cornerstone
Weak made strong
In the Saviour's love
Through the storm
He is Lord, Lord of all

When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil

When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless stand before the throne

I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
