Life really gets hard sometimes; especially today when our economy is so bad, job loss and family crisis coming and going. We can easily get discouraged but listen to what John tells us. John 10:10-11 - "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.” The thief can be considered all those things in our lives that seem to drain the life out of us. But note what the two underlined words mean: The Greek word for life is Zoe – referring to the principle of life in the spirit and soul; Expressing all of the highest and best which Christ is and which He gives to the saints; The highest blessedness of the creature. The Greek word for abundance is Perissos – in this passage meaning – abundantly of abundance – exceeding above, above the greatest abundance – superabundantly.

WOW! Did you get that? Our Jesus offers us “the highest blessedness of the creature” in “superabundance”. Will we still have problems and hurts? Yes. But God loves us so much He was willing to send His one and only Son - John 3:16-17 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. When Jesus died on the cross He opened up a new world to those who will accept Him. Luke 19:10, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." When we accept Christ as our personal Lord and Savior He gives us “life” in “abundance.” This may not mean we will get rich or have no problems but it means He wants us to have HIM and with Him we have “life”. Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and THE LIFE”, not only life in heaven-eternally but “life” on this earth. WOW! What a Savior we have. If you have not accepted this “Jesus” then will you? Start living your life in “abundance”.
