Welcome To My Humble Sparkpage!! I am on a brand new weight loss journey. 7 years ago I began a journey on Sparkpeople and I lost nearly 100 pounds, but due to poor self-esteem and bad body image, I regained all the weight plus much more and also developed bulimia. After a few years of recovery (through medication and psychotherapy) I was able to stop binging and (mostly) stop overexercising, although the ED is something I still work on to this day. However, these days I am on a brand new journey of health and wellness that is taking me to entirely new places. I have an entirely new lease on life filled with self-esteem and self-respect--and even self-love!! So while I aim to lose about 150 pounds, it is not really about the number on the scale for me. It is about being my healthiest happiest self. I have physical disabilities so traditional exercise is not the way for me at this point and I am an avid chair exerciser, but it is my goal to resume regular exercise in the future as I grow stronger and healthier. I am also focusing on improving my nutrition and eating good foods that nourish my body and make me feel the way I want to feel. After years of binging, I learned that nothing feels worse than being too full! I will be blogging about my journey, so feel free to follow along, and don't be shy to join me, as I slowly but surely make my way towards a brand new better me!

My Goals:
I am setting the most reasonable goals I can in order to work slowly towards becoming healthier in a way that I can sustain for the long-term. I am focusing on 1) nutrition 2) exercise 3) mental health 4) spiritual health. So while my ultimate goal is to lose 150 pounds, my small goals along the way are to focus on the things that will help me get there like tracking my food and staying within calorie range, drinking enough water, meditating, taking my medication, exercising 5-6 times per week, cutting back on smoking, increasing my steps, and practicing better self-care.

Personal Information:
I am a Buddhist nun with a 10-year-old son. I am a writer. I am disabled but fitness is still a huge part of my life and I am working towards getting fitter and healthier every day. I have a Pomeranian and a Manx. I enjoy comedies and cartoons.

    Thanks so much for the yoga mat & even more for the hugs! I babysat my granddaughter this afternoon as her mom was called into work. My muscles are so sore from lifting and carrying her (and I wouldn't change a thing). We had just finished supper when my son stopped by with his twin boys. I am exhausted but very happy.
