This has been my intro almost since I started, and it's still true.
I have been struggling with my weight since I was a teenager. I've never been really heavy, but in my eyes I was always bigger than all the other girls.

In recent years I have been losing weight and gaining it all back (10-20lbs at a time) very quickly. I know my issue with my weight is bigger than just counting calories and exercising. So this time around, I am also trying to work on my self image and working to find the deeper issues that cause my weight fluctuation. I'm hoping this time around I'll be able to make this a real lifestyle change.

And here's an update for 2012:
I started the year getting engaged (yay!) and decided that now was the time to finally reach my goal weight! I set my goal weight at 135 lbs and I have a little over 5 months to get there! January and February have come and gone and so far I've lost 5 lbs. Now I am determined to stay on track and lose at least 1 lb per week.
On that note, I joined the Spring 2012 5% Challenge! I am committed to losing at least 5% of my weight by May 12th, which would be 8 lbs but I'm shooting for 9lbs! I am committed to exercising at least 5 days a week, 30 minutes per day. I am aiming to burn between 2000-2500 calories per week. I will be following the SparkPeople guidelines for nutrition eating between 1350-1650 calories a day and meeting the guidelines for carbs, protein, fat, sodium and fiber. I will support my team by posting on the team message board every day and blogging at least once a month (blogging consistently is challenging for me but I'll do my best to blog more).
Let's do this!

My Goals:
1. Reach a healthy and comfortable weight and body fat percentage (I'm thinking 135 lbs, and body fat percentage of 22%, but I'll see how I feel :) )
2. Keep the weight off and live a healthy lifestyle
3. Run races!
So far I've done the Houston Half Marathon 1/30/11- 2:29:40 yeah!
Galveston Beach Palooza- 5k obstacle course 9/24/11- 45:19
San Antonio Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon Relay (ran 8 miles) 11/13/11 - 1:27:01


My Program:
*Eating within my calorie range and nutrients goals.
*Cook yummy healthy food!
*Eating out not more than once a week (and get healthy stuff)
*Right now I'm doing Insanity! Started on 4/23/12
Past programs: Feb. 14th, 2011- started 30 Day Shred!
April 9th, 2011- 30 Day Slimdown Challenge
*Learn what is really going on that makes me lose weight and then gain it all back... (In the beginning of April I started reading Geneen Roth's book- Breaking Free from Emotional Eating in an attempt to change my habits for good!)



Personal Information:
My name is Noga and I am 27 years old. I currently live in Texas with my fiance and our dog, Zeus. I am originally from Israel and have just recently moved here so making the transition is not easy. I love my family back home and miss them and my friends but am very grateful to have such a wonderful fiance and adorable dog that are truly the loves of my life! I also started graduate school in the fall of 2011!

    To be totally honest, I'm not really sure how I did it. I do tons of plank work for shoulders and abs. Some lifting for back and shoulders. And monkey bars at the park with my kids. I think they may have helped most!
