An aging man lived alone in Ireland. His only son was in Long Kesh Prison, and he didn't know anyone who would spade up his potato garden. The old man wrote to his son about it, and received this reply, "For HEAVENS SAKE, don't dig up that garden, that's where I buried the GUNS!!!!!"

At 4 A.M. the next morning, a dozen British soldiers showed up and dug up the entire garden, but didn't find any guns. Confused, the man wrote to his son telling him what happened and asking him what to do next.

His son's reply was: "Just plant your potatoes."

Walking and my fitness videos (28 day bootcamp challenge) are my goals for the week. I posted the schedule here on Spark and on another "meetup" web site, so even if my one walking buddy cancels, I will be compelled to go walk "just in case someone else shows up".

Good thing I did, because my walking buddy for today cancelled (her dog passed away) but I'm still going to get my walk in. Who knows, she may change her mind and meet me. If not, I may meet new friends today.

I'm thankful this morning that the snow that arrived was minimal, and not the 9 inches they got just a few miles away here in Monroe County, PA. Thankful to be given another day to stretch toward the goals I have before me, and encourage others (like TL who is struggling to learn to use her new hip) to stretch toward theirs.

I have planned chocolate into my food plan for today and tomorrow, as I traditionally give up all things chocolate for Lent which begins Wednesday. This will hopefully pan out into even better SPARK results. A few more pounds until I reach goal #1 of three. Once I hit 130#, then I will quit smoking and maintain 130#. After 2 weeks cigarette free, I will continue this journey down to 120#.

So now you have my short and long term plans. Stay tuned for those all so crazy details of success and failure. I'm SO glad that Girl Scout Cookie days are officially over! Whew!

I've been surrounded by the aging members of our family for a long time, and I'm currently again trying to use their mentor-ability to it's fullest extent. To adopt the very few gracious qualities I see, and use the rest as contrary indicators of my own behavior as I age. It is now my responsibility to become more physically fit for the sake of my future, and to remain less of a burden on the next generations.

One session at a time, right?

Hey there sweetie! How's your plan working for ya? Haven't seen much bloggin' goin on here. It is what keeps me going some days.

It's that "accountability" factor, ya know? February was a tumultuous month, but March should turn around here.

Really looking forward to spring. So what's up with you?
