I always dance like nobody's watching.......but if they were watching, they would agree I look like a frog in a blender!

Hi.......just getting my re-start going .... I used to be very athletic so I understand you role. Even if not overweight, fitness, really fitness is important to get either back to or maintain it. I can say that the older you get after the usual reprieve, you will benefit greatly from getting back to all that movement and challenging yourself again. It is a renewal process I think.

New Orleans is WONDERFUL, especially for music lovers. If you're planning to go, let me know. I'll have a few tips for you.

I had a friend who fell in love and moved there from PA, and after she was there a few years, I finally had the time and money to plan to go see her. We spent a week together, and with her being a local, I got the "insider" tour.

Twenty days after I left New Orleans, Katrina arrived. My friend lost her house in the storm, and now lives not far from me in NJ.

If I ever get the chance to go back, I would stay at the same hotel, visit some of the same places, and have another "time of my life".

    Great novel! LOL

Happy to see how active you and your daughter are. Cuba, huh? Wow! I'll bet you took lots of pictures too. How exciting, and I hear you when you say humbling.

A few years ago I went with my sister to the Philippines, and while I was mostly in Manila, we took a 5 day weekend long side trip to Boracay beach. It is considered the third most beautiful beach in the world, and I must say, it is #1 in my opinion. Traveling through the islands was quite an experience, and the blatant poverty on the edge and beyond of the city is obvious and humbling too. Travel in a jeepnay vehicle on land or "puddle jumper" small plane is no fun either. I half expected to bump into Indiana Jones himself!

I love to travel, but equally love coming home to my own bed. May all of your travels be safe, and may you really enjoy the upcoming visitors from Cuba. Keep me posted on details as they become available.

So there's my novel....where's your blog?

I'd love to know more about your daughter, and how she got into Irish dancing. When will you be writing another blog? What's going on in your life? We'd all like to know more!

When I was in grade school, the family down the street (the Fitzpatrick family) would allow their daughters to go from classroom to classroom to perform for us students in Queen of the Universe Catholic School on St. Patrick's day. I was always in awe of their talent for Irish dancing, and as their mother sewed their costumes (as all of our mother's sewed back then) I found the pageantry most interesting. They had even incorporated their family crest into the outfits!

Tell me more about your/her experiences!
