WE CAN�T BECOME WHAT WE NEED BY REMAINING WHAT WE ARE:

8th january 2012

this year i am not concentrating so much on looseing weight but on trying to get more balance and less stress in my life.i hope by doing this thge looseing weight will take care of itself.i have decided i am more than my weight,my family ,my health and having fun should come first and then hopefully the rest will follow.

after complications at my sons birth,nearly dieing and several operations later i am still here two years later still trying to loose weight.so far i have lost 118..5lbs but still have 56lbs to go.so as you see i still have a long way to go.i am hoping to rach goal this year and if i do there will be such a virtual party(which you will all be invited too)as well as a real one at home,lol.my mini goal is to get to ONE-DER-LAND.i have 11.6lbs to go to official be there.i want to take this opurtunity to thank every one here on sparks foe enabling me to get thai far and spark guy for setting up this site.for thoes of you struggling,doing the right thing re exercise and food but are semmingly not have much success remember the scale is not the be all and end all.there are loads of none scale victories on the way which you have to look for and remember.my two biggest none scale victories so far are.

being able to cut my toenails without struggling and one day when i was out and my trousers fell down (luckily by my front door and i hope no one saw.)

ask yourself theese questions.

have you more energy?

are you healthier?fitter?less out of breath going up stairs?

are you happier?more positive ?

have you a better self esteem?

do your clothes feel loser or even fall off?

have you more energy?

incase you are all wondering about my tracker there is a server problem that i can�t change

my heaviest weight was 330lbs,my start weight at sp was 270lbs and my presant weight is 211.5lb.my goal weight is 155lbs.

life is too short not to have goals. it is even shorter if you dont meet your goals so i guess i better meet mine.

i like to read but never seem to have time theese days .what little time i have will be used up now for spark people.there`s alot to read when you first start.i also like to sew and knit and love cooking and exploring cook books.i enjoy also my family life.oh! by the way did i say i sound a bit boring.only sound it though in real life can be quite exciting.

    Hi,
    Let me first say your three babies are beautiful. yes, what a perfect motivator. You inquired about what I was doing with the HCG diet. Let me first say it is totally not like anything you have ever heard of before so brace yourself. I am a registered nurse and came across a book advertised on t.v. by kevin trudeau - what they don't want you to know about weight loss.... it was amazing. I have researched hcg for months and have jumped in with both feet. It's not that expensive. i guess i spent about 80 buck and that will take me through one phase of about 40 days.

    hcg is the harmone that tests positive when a woman is pregnant. Dr Simeon a physician (who is no deceased) researched and discovered over 50 years ago that hcg helps release the stored fat that otherwise does not get released very easily. i've read stories of people online that lost there 100 + pounds 30 + years ago and have kept it off. they all swear this is a "cure" to obesity.

    there are 3 types of fat...
    1. the type we take in right now when we eat our meal. this is used up as energy and the balance is stored.
    2. the type of fat that cushions our bones and joints. we don't want to lose this kind of fat. it is good and necessary fat.
    3. the kind of fat that has been sitting on my hips for 20 years that won't leave. for men it is often the spare tire that never goes away no matter how hard they try.

    when you take in small amounts of hcg -- 150 - 200 units each day and you eat a very low cal diet (vlcd) of only 500 calories (hold on.... it gets better) the #3 fat drops at a rate of about 1 pound PER DAY. Yes it is sooooo true. And i'm not even hungry. I am addicted to food. i didn't think there was any way i could eat only 500 calories. they tell you what to eat. they strongly encourage eating organic but i dont usually. the reason for this is to rid your body of all the chemicals etc sprayed on other foods which can hinder wt loss.

    no breakfast. only tea, coffee or water any time all day long.

    lunch & supper:
    meats: you can have 3 oz of lean beef or chicken breast, shrimp, some types of fish.
    veg: you can have only certain ones. tomatoes & cucumber & spinach & lettuce are the ones i like. others are asparagus, different types of greens.
    fruits: strawberries, apple, oranges and a few others i don't like.
    breads: certain kind of bread stick (very thin & crunch kind) or melba toast.

    You can not eat any dressings or fats or carbs. this is it! no more than this but you can eat less. some days i've lost 2-3 lbs.

    I started 2/9 @ 265
    today 2/27 @ 249 but should be at 245 but I really cheated the past 4 days and was at 249 then and gained back up to 250.5 as of yesterday. it works if you stick to it.

    there is a site for support and all kinds of reading you can look up. one site you can look up explains who dr simeon was and how he even got into this kind of research -- briefly... in europe he was delivering normal weight babies to malnourished moms and couldn't figure out how the baby weights over and over could be ok. he discovered the hcg produced in women in the neighborhood of about 4million iu (we take in only 150-200iu) allows the stored fats to be released for nourishment of the baby. he spent years researching this. in kevin trudeaus book he adds an extra phase to his plan -- whereby you clenase your body - colon, etc before you start and some lose even quicker. i didn't do this.

    hcg is not legal in the usa. as a nurse i know first hand the fda does NOT have the best interest of the americans foremost in their mind. think about it ... if there was a weight loss "cure" billions of dollars every year would not be spent on perscripton drugs relating to weight loss not to mention the other drugs bought due to illnesses associated with obesity such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, pain pills for knees/joints that are giving away from carrying so much extra weight.

    So.... you order your supplies online from europe or inda. i got mine from india because my dr is indian and i knew she'd be ok with it if it came from india and i was right. she read about it and gave me the ok. i have high blood pressure high triglycerides, brusitis, esophageal reflush, sleep apnea and she was ok with it.

    three ways to take in hcg. i give myself subcutaneous (sq) injections daily with a tiny insulin syringe in my belly - I promise you I can't even feel it.
    2) injection with larger needle into the muscle (intramuscular im) - most people don't do this because it hurts and research does not show you get better results or i would have indured the pain to do it quicker. 3) you can take it sublingual (sl) (under the tongue) results are said to be equal with sl or sq or im.

    Here's the best part and the part that SOLD me on the whole deal. You can see in the photos of people on line that their skin is not saggy. they don't look haggard like some people who lose weight fast. their skin becomes taught again - it's amazing.

    i will be on this phase for 40 days (with less weight to lose 30 or under people can do 23 days and be done.) it will take me 6 phases of 40 days with breaks inbetweeen phases ranging from 2 weeks to 6 months before I'm done so your body will continue to react to the hcg and not get immune.

    I can't wait to get up in the mornings now and strip my jams off and jump on the scale and see how much i lost during the night. it is instant gratification.

    as you go off this phase they teach you about eating properly and making good choices and maintaing. however, the difference here is that with most diets people regain the weight because their setpoints have not changed. with hcg dieting your set point or (fat memory) goes back to 0. it starts all over again. it does not remember that you once had a 50 inch waist or whatever. your body thinks you were always thin and now works to keep you that way. THIS IS A BIG BIG DEAL because most diets do not reset your set points. the whole thing about this is amazing.

    Hi Karen,

    I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. It must make things tough for you. It's good that you've made the decision to go ahead and lose weight so you can see your boys grow up. I don't have kids myself, but I can understand where your motivation is coming from.

    Don't be discouraged if you're not losing weight as quickly as other people. You are at a disadvantage at the moment, with not being able to exercise, so your progress will naturally be a little slower than that of someone like myself who is able to exercise. I suffered a back injury this week (a recurring problem), which meant I couldn't do my cardio workout the last few mornings. However, I've been careful about what I've eaten, so I'm hopeful that I'll have lost a pound when I weigh in tomorrow. But if I haven't, I'm not going to beat myself up about it, because I know I've given it my best shot this week. And there's always next week.

    My best advice to you is to use the Nutrition Tracker. It's been a godsend for me and, while it takes a little commitment, I find that it pays dividends when trying to work out if I can have that piece of chocolate I'm craving. So even if you can't work out, you can control your calorie intake, which should go a long way to helping you achieve your goal.

    Thanks so much for the comment. Ask all the questions you want I don't mind. My first ah ha moment was when I went to get on a roller coaster and couldn't fit. I just realized how much I would end up missing out on in life. I was mortified walking off the platform. Then I started thinking about and realized if my daughter had been older she would have had to live that embarasment too. And I decided enough was enough, I deserved better and so did she. She is my main motivator. I wish I could say everyone is supportive but they aren't. I have had negative comments, people accuse me of having an eating disorder, or they say they can't see a chance when i've lost 50lbs, or I've even had people lie to me about what was in something they made to get me to eat it. I try not to let those people get to me. My husband has been a huge support through this whole thing. best of luck to you on this journey and if you have anymore questions please feel free to ask.
