Thanks for the comment on my page! There is an Ironman going on this coming weekend here in the Houston area, and I hope to at least get a glimpse of it. Maybe it'll inspire me to keep reacihng forward!

As far as turtle running, I feel like a turtle, too! Though it is all relative! My first 5K was 46:30. My PR is now about 36:30. I THINK I could do one in under 35 minutes now, but I haven't done it yet. Anyway, what I've read is that you should wait 12 months after you start running and then start doing speed work. I'm almost at my 1 year mark (June 1st!) and I have started doing some speedwork. I either set my alarm for 2 minute runs with 1 minute walks, or .25 mile runs, with 1 minute walks. I do find I'm getting slightly faster!

Most people tell me to just run, run, run to get faster. I guess so! I have also lengthened my stride just a bit... in the back, not in the front... and it has helped me. But, when I saw photos of my 'run', my feet were only inches apart! Now, I would guess, I look more like a runner. But, people have also cautioned me against changing my natural stride!

Just keep at it! I hope you have a great time running!

Good morning Tessa, it's always good to widen out. Thanks for adding me to your friend's list. I'll be in touch. We certainly have a lot in common spiritually, and now we maybe we can help each other physically. I have not been on the boards lately as much as I would like, but things will change shortly. Take care. P.S. I will add you to my friend's list as soon as I remember how - Tee-Hee emoticon
