I know the feeling. The scale will not budge. One Sparker suggested monitoring your intake, to find a possible culprit. Hers was too much dairy.

I have been a diet fanatic my whole life and even when dieting try to always eat healthy. When I have been the most successful it has been when I have combined dieting with exercise. My biggest problem is I don't like many fruits and vegetables and am a carb addict. This time I am drinking a shakeology shake for breakfast and doing a turbofire dvd at least 6 days a week. The shakes are filling me up and I have more energy. The exercise is still hard but I love the kickboxing type of exercise. We can all do this!

I am new to sparkpeople as of yesterday. I am 4'11" and am trying to keep my calorie intake under 1200. I have managed to lose nine pounds and that is a miracle but have been holding at the same weight for maybe two weeks. It can be exasperating but I have to cheer myself on. We have a wedding to go to in November and I look forward to a new dress. I have kept the same weight for many years and maybe lose at the most ten and then gain it back. I am tired of that route and want to get it all off and feel the freedom from being bound in to much fat, especially around my middle. I know I need to increase my water intake... It almost seems that the less you have to lose the less our bodies want to let go..I don't know I am just trying to figure it out. But I tell myself I am in it for how ever length of time it takes and learning lessons along the way, so it's all good.. emoticon

I too was having problems getting the weight off. I changed the amount of calories to consume to no more than 1400, but it didn't automatically adjust the fat/carbs/protein. When I changed those categories and made sure under all circumstances I drank 8 glasses of water (no matter how hard it seemed), the weight started coming off a little faster than in the beginning.

I just lost the first few pounds after 7 weeks of nothing. Now I know I am dedicated and that is the greatest help of all. It is said that it takes three days of strict calorie restriction before your body resorts to burning fat. (It has other ways of coping.) I found I kept overeating on the fourth or fifth day even though I knew the hunger was my body's last plea before turning to fat-burning. check your reports to see if your overeating just before your body shifts. Also, keep remembering that your exercise is transforming your body as it slowly converts fat to muscle. Every workout helps. I do feel stronger after only two weeks of exercise despite the lack of weight loss. Let's talk. emoticon
