I'm now 60 years old. Life is pretty wonderful for me. I'm active in my hiking club and church. Just got back from Washington DC, a birthday present from my family. I love exploring new places. I keep coming back to Spark People when I get serious about my goals because it works. SP has been a great blessing

It's been two years since I've used Spark Pages. I'm about to turn 59, retired, and living in Arkansas. Stress is no longer a factor. Health needs to become a serious priority--pain avoidance. I want to continue hiking and kayaking for a long time.

Hello, I'm looking to more success with my weight loss goals by using Spark Pages. I'm a 56 year old professional in a high-pressured job, and it's been tough sticking to a structured routine, but my goal is to make it a priority. I want to lose 60 lbs. and enjoy the process. ///2014 Update...Lost 20 pounds--40 pounds to go; really enjoying getting fit. I'm enjoying doing new things and not letting my career consume my life. I want to get closer to God in 2014.

Hello! I've just seen your comment on the 5:2 Fast Diet and decided to visit your Spark Page, so I thought I'd introduce myself:

Hello, my name is Lindsay. My Spark Name is SlimLeaf and I live in a beautiful, hilly, green part of the north-west of England. I'm a Christian and have been following the 5:2 plan for nearly two years as I believe it is good for my health and it's very easy to fit into everyday life.

I look forward to getting to know you.

    1. Accept yourself for who you are at this very moment. Appreciate the BEAUTY that makes you YOU:)

    2. Be thankful for your blessings. You may not have everything you want but, you have ALL you need.

    3. Make sure your worst enemy isn't dwelling in your own skin. Remember that you're always listening even if no one else can hear you!

    4. Vow to take care of your body & work out daily! After all, it's the only place you have to live! Make it a happier, healthier place to reside in. YOU are your best investment.

    5. Stay true to who you are & you will ALWAYS be happy! Gather all your crazy dreams, far fetched ambitions & big goals & build a life you love & are proud of!

    6. Stop comparing yourself to who you're not! Girls compete with one another. Women EMPOWER each other.

    7. Forgive yourself for every mistake, every heartbreak & every time you've fallen short. Self-forgiveness is a necessary & vital step to finding your inner peace.

    8. Remember that you can't fix yourself by BREAKING someone else. ALWAYS choose kindness.

    9. Focus your thoughts on what is good, what is admirable & what is positive. Never let your mind become consumed by negativity & hate. Never let your heart turn cold.

    10. Say YES to adventure. Say YES to bliss. Say YES to the impossible. You never know when your heart will stop beating. Take the jump & free fall on the way down if you have to. Live with no regrets.

The holidays can be a stressful much to do...and so little time. De-stress at every opportunity. What does stress do to your health habits? It usually foils them. It takes over your good judgment leaving you at the mercy of comfort foods. Not this year!! Learn to recognize your stress level. Maybe it's your tone of voice. Maybe it's trying to read the same paragraph five times. Maybe it's hearing everyone speak at once but not really listening to anyone. That's when you need to relax. Take a five-minute time-out for yourself. Get away from the crowd. Breathe deeply and relax your muscles. Close your eyes and remember what you're thankful for: When you return to your family, they'll wonder why you look so refreshed!

emoticon The year-end brings no greater pleasure than the opportunity to express good wishes. May your Holidays and the New Year be filled with Happiness!
