I'm tired of being overweight and out of shape and ready to be healthy once more. I know this won't be easy, easy is sitting in my chair mindlessly munching on something and either watching TV or reading. It will take getting out of my comfort zone and paying attention to what I'm doing. It will take making an effort and changing bad habits. I hope by logging on and posting that it will help me keep focused.

I would love to find friends on this site, both to help motivate and to motivate me!

Fitness Minutes: 8,121

My Goals:
(1) Get to a healthier weight. My short term goal is to get below 200 by the end of the year and yes that is a stretch goal.
(2) Exercise!
(3) Write every day. Finish my current book and send it to a publisher before the end of the year.

My Program:
(1) I am starting with dumbbells and walking. I am using a Fitbit to track my steps and I am aiming for at least 70K a week.. I am doing the weights and floor exercises 100 mins a week.
(1) Log and plan my food daily. Eat within my calorie range 6 days a week. Thursdays I can have one freedom meal/dessert.

Personal Information:
I am lucky to have a wonderful family. I have two grown sons who unfortunately live far away, My parents are super sweet and I have two wonderful but super skinny sisters - I would love to look like I belong to the group when we are together.

I am semi-retired from a stressful job and working four days a week baking bread and donuts and cookies (and yes it is super hard to resist when they are hot out of the oven).

I enjoy writing, playing MMOs, and reading. I've been so out of shape that all my hobbies are sedentary - or maybe I am out of shape because of my hobbies. I am trying to teach myself how to draw and paint ... but the results are pretty sad atm.

When I fully retire, or win the lottery, or become a best-selling author, I plan on moving into a travel trailer and traveling the country for at least a few years before I settle down.

    Your description of your walk was beautiful. I can almost see the butterflies! How amazing that you weren't planning on going, then you got up and out with the idea of only walking a mile and then you were able to do 3! Way to go!!! emoticon

    So nice to meet another MMORPG fan. What do you play? I still play WoW from time to time, but mostly play stuff like TERA or Final Fantasy XIV.
