Fitness Minutes: 25,072

My Goals:
I want to incorporate healthy lifestyle changes to be a fitter person. I don't want to be on a "diet" all my life!


My Program:
 I am going to have both hips replaced due to arthritis. First surgery scheduled for mid-August. I am hoping the surgeries will allow me to get out and work with my dogs again.


Personal Information:
I live in a suburb of Chicago, married with 2 daughters. Unfortunately, my dog Mira is no longer with us. I still have her nephew, Blaze, and at Easter we welcomed Roxie into our household.

    Debra, I know you are really busy with treatments and work and the holidays?? Just wanted to check in with you briefly and see how things were going with you? I hope well. I hope minimal side effects and the strength and stamina to work and do what you must. Be sure to ration out your energy if that is a problem so you won't just be steamless. Plan for the activities you must and WANT TO DO. hugs brenda

    Every year the people here forget how to drive in the snow too lol. What's really sad about that, is that we only have about 4 months of the year when there ISN'T snow on the ground. emoticon

    Get your toque and come on up!!! You can train in my Ford Focus LOL!!! (it's front wheel drive but BONUS I've got winter tires!)

    I answered your question in my blog but thought I should put it here, too!
    I don't believe that herding dogs are innately more protective; I believe that Female dogs are!
    To be honest, I'm not sure I'd personally put any stock into a 'test' for protectiveness. My dogs reaction is based purely on MY reaction in any situation and I doubt that could be replicated with any real success.

    And don't worry - I'm pretty reflective lol. My jacket, pants, shoes and Mollie's leash and collar are all reflective. I also always require a heel from my dog when running so that I know exactly where she's placed, and we run on paths rather than the street.
