Hi I''m Mary. I got to my goal weight, then fell off the Sparkpeople support. I''ve gained back 10 pounds, and I am determined to get it off...and keep it off! I see myself as someone who can accomplish anything I set my mind to do. The weight crept up over a few years until I couldn''t wear any of my clothes. And I was determined not to buy any sizes bigger than a 12. (of course, there are big size 12''s and small size 12''s, but that''s another story). I will be happy to fit back into small size 8''s and big size 6''s soon. That''s just about right for me at 5''10" tall. I am also interested in staying healthy and fit. I am a breast cancer survivor (21 years now), and I know that diet and exercise play a key role in staying cancer-free. When I get at my maintenance zone, I will continue to SPARK so that I don''t slip back. This process is perfect to keep me aware of health and fitness. It is so full of information and motivation. I am inspired by those who are losing excess weight, while gaining confidence and friends in the process.

My Goals:
MY FITNESS GOALS: Based on my height of 5'10", I WILL:

Eat healthfully, with appropriate portions

Maintain size 6-8 c

My hip measurement will never be larger than 37", and my waist 26" , my upper thighs at 21"

Weigh 130 lbs fully clothed at my next annual physical

Keep my blood pressure below 120-80, and my cholestrol under 170

I will be able to run 10k without stopping at 8.5 minute miles


My Program:
Cardio 1 hour 5xweek

with a goal of 35 miles per week

Weights 5 days a week, alternating upper and lower body

Tennis singles 2xweek

I use the Nike Plus gizmo that tracks miles, pace, calories, etc. and coordinates challenges with other Nike users. VERY MOTIVATING!

It keeps me thinking about walking or running, just to stay ahead of chosen challengers!

Hypnotism (really works!) to control appetite and portions , and keep up enthusiasm for working out

Track all food, fitness, and drink on Sparkpeople daily.

    Congratulations on all your wonderful success including most importantly health - I have the horrible c-word in my family - lost my mom and younger brother. now my dad is doing battle. It effects so many and it is wonderful to hear of peoples success!! I agree diet makes a big difference - although it is still very difficult!
    I am a tennis player too! I am on a 3.5 team that made it to districts this year - we are in first place for our summer team - I play singles and you would think I should be skinny LOL!!!

    Thanks for the support. I haven't been tracking on Spark People because Ive been tracking on Weight Watchers On Line, but I'm not exercising consistantly. I haven't made any progress in 3 years. I don't believe my heart is in this, even though my brain tells me I am. I'm still not giving up. emoticon

    Because Saturday is my exercise to hearts content day, my weigh in date has been changed to SUNDAY mornings. I lost 1/2 pound since yesterday! What a way to start a NEW week, to know my heart is filled with oxygen, my brain is functioning, and my weight is sinking! I love to see my weight tracker show another ounce lost! I love you Mozane! emoticon
