There is always the option to take the quick direct route and the long scenic path. For weightloss we are always hoping for the quick direct route, but I have come to find my path is not as direct as I would like.

Occasionally I also wander off the path, and get seemingly lost......

But, I always find my way back. And in the end the most important thing is to continue down the path.

November 2010, I realized I was off the path again and knew I had to try something very different. I enrolled in an 82 week weight management program which has 16 weeks of just eating nutritional shakes and bars. I have never wanted to do something like this before, but I really felt I needed to reboot my system and not having and food for a couple of months seemed like a good plan.

I am hopeful this will leave me with renewed faith in my resolve, and ready to add back only the food that I know will help me succeed.

Update: I started the weight management program through Kaiser on January 27, 2011. I have lost 86 pounds in less than I year, and I plan to do the same thing this year!

I spent the last 3 month just maintaining, (A feat in itself!) and I am back to active weight loss.

My gratitude towards finally finding a way that works for me cannot be expressed. I still have much to work out regarding consistent exercise and eating, but I really know this is happening..... and it fill me with such joy.

My Goals:
My very ambitious goal is to be in "One-derland" by April 15th

I would also like to go back to a vegetarian food plan and still have the amount of protein that keeps me healthy without too many carbs.

My Program:
My food plan basically consists of the main meals with optional snacks in the afternoon and evening.
I have an oatmeal pudding bar or Kashi GoLean for breakfast.
I usually swim for 50 minutes before lunch at least 3-5 times a week and then have a salad with chicken breast or a sandwich, either turkey or tuna salad with carrots and celery sticks.
My afternoon snack is usually a fruit and mozzarella stick. Dinner can be most anything, Rosemary chicken, fish, or turkey stuffed pepper with a veggie or salad.

I have been a meditator for many years, I also love kirtan and chanting.

I own a meditation island in Second Life. And I am recovering from the two years I have spent there!

I love scrapbooking and plan to do one for my weightloss story.
