    The Walk/Run Challenge team actually began when a coach found this website.

    It tracks our miles and gives us a photo of our location along the way. That's the part I really like.

    You have to register as a new user.

    We all start in Yorktown, Virginia and then move west from there.

    You can keep this information to yourself or post it to the "Where are you today thread." Just a few of us do that, but I love it.

    My mom is a major stroke victim so she can't run errands and things like that as she can't walk... her right side has very limited use. My dad has been her enabler and so she depends on him to keep spoiling her in such a way. As for the sleeping bag mat. I'm not the first one to ever make one. Churches all over the place make them for the homeless to keep them dry and because they are made out of plastic bags they are bug resistant. Like I said google it and you'll be able to read up on it.

    Thanks so much for the "Goodie" and the info! I'm really just starting out (again - HA!). I had gastric sleeve surgery 2 years ago and lost about 95 pounds. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough since my weight prior to surgery was a whopping 280 pounds! OUCH - it hurts to say it out loud!!! Anyway, over the course of the past six months, not only did I not continue to lose, but I actually gained back about 15 pounds. I knew going in that the surgery was only a tool to help me get where I needed to be and that I needed to change my eating habits and start moving. I have a great support group in my sisters and SparkPeople is a wonderful tool! I so enjoy learning about others people's stories, success and advice. Anyway, didn't mean to leave my life story in this comment.... LOL! Thanks again and have a great day!!

    The way I track my walk is this:

    1- Decide my starting point (anywhere in the world) and my destination (also anywhere in the world).

    2- Find out the distance between the two by using Google Maps or Yahoo Maps.

    3) Then I just begin to log my miles in a blog, Word document, or even a journal, subtracting each day's mileage from the total until I finally reach the destination.

    I find this to be a really simple way to do a virtual walk. In fact, I have introduced the VW to our Biggest Loser team and we are going to work on one together. Well actually, each team member is going to do their own walk, but we are going to discuss our individual walks with one another on Thursdays during BLC27.

    I hope that you will find this to be a great way for you to do your own walk. Truly, the VW was one of the best things I discovered here at SP because my first walk of 207 miles was long enough and short enough to keep me motivated to developing a daily exercise habit.
