I have joined the Summer 5% Challenge which will begin July 4th with the fireworks!!!. 8 weeks of inspiration towards the weight loss journey. It is a Race to Fascinating Places - Join a supportive team and let's have fun as we lose 5% of our weight, make new friends and improve our health! Starting date: July 4, 2020.

I live in Washington State, Port Angeles to be exact. It's at the start of the Straits of Juan de Fuca, and directly across the water from Victoria Canada. Beautiful place.

I have struggled with weight my whole life. More than once I''ve had to lose 30 pounds. It just kinda creeps up on ya uh?

My family includes my husband, myself and a Pomchi.

I have 3 daughters, as of Feb 2018 they all live on this side of the Puget Sound too. I have 6 grandchildren, ages 26, 22, 9 and 8, 4, and a 21 month old. Only the oldest is a boy, all the rest are girls!

My biggest wish was to live closer to my children and grandchildren again. We are the ones that moved away for 15 years. My wish came true, but it was hard won. On Oct 18, 2013 we had a house fire in our home in Lake Havasu, AZ. It took nine months of misery, RENTALS moves, and insurance adjustments but we moved into OUR home in Port Angeles, WA 7-18-2014. Nine months to the day of the fire.

Here''s to us ALL "positively" losing to our goal weight and then keeping our weight off!!

    She was 90

I lost my own mom in 2004 at 84, and my dad 8 months later at 85. We were the caretakers for all 3 in the final years of their lives.

Thanks for your comment on my lbs lost! I hate to say it but I did gain a lot when care giving for my Dear Father in Law and my own parents. That was about a 5 yr stretch ... non stop. Thankful I "woke up" and realized I had better start taking care of me! :)

Thanks for adding me as a friend. You are so right, you will have no regrets!! You both are now so blessed! I do miss my parents every day and at first it was terribly hard. Now (3 yrs later) the days are filled with joy and I love looking at things still around the house that remind me of Mom and Dad and those days of being together each day!
Good for you for hugging your Mom! It is good for her and for you!! :)
    Blessings!!

Yes, Debby, I thought I would die for that first 5 or so minutes. I listened to my i-pod and watched college baseball on the TV and kept distracted as much as possible.

Thanks Debbie, for your nice comments on my picture. I do a lot of strength training, and lately more ab work. I do struggle with the love handles, and am winning the battle. Your comment made my day, and encourages me to work harder. Thanks.
