I have had a weight problem most of my life and would love to lose back down to 130 pounds, which is an ideal weight for me, but realistically, I will probably never reach that goal. I would be thrilled with 150 lbs.

My weight has gone up and down most of my life, but it has gotten out of control in the past 12 years.

I have 2 children, Brent 33 and Brittany 25, a 15 year old grandson, Blaze, and a 10 year old granddaughter, Ashton......we lost her identical twin on June 22, 2008. Emily is gone but will always be in my heart.

June a year ago I was diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy and fibromaylgia. I have lost the ability to do the things I love. I am no longer able to ride or care for the horses that I love so much, I no longer cook, garden, can foods, sew, or walk. I am very limited in mobility and cannot lift weights. I can go to the YMCA and move around in the water, but cannot really swim. Weight loss is a struggle. But I am back and am going to try. I have lost a lot but the most important thing that I still have is my family and they are my heart. Mostly, I want to be around to watch my grandchildren grow up and have children of their own!

I have too many junk food junkies around me and that makes it hard to eat right. I need to have people that understand what I am going through, are supportive, and will not bringing junk food around me. There is no better motivation than sharing this journey with people who are there to support you and let you support them. I never want to weigh 360 lbs. again!

Hi Debbie, I don't know that I am all the diligent about exercise. I had a treadmill(fold-up variety and a health rider sitting in the living room by the TV for years and never used either.

I do however like going to the gym. Using the machines makes me feel good(I think more than physically) Since you have horses you can do the type exercise I love but never have the opportunity to do!

I just checked the caloriesperhour site for you. Did you know a 295 pound person burns 348 calories for 1 hour of horesback riding at a walking pace, 535 calories for an hour of general riding and 156 calories for 20 minutes of grooming? Pretty darn good, I'd say!

Hey Debbie! You are on the right track. I totally know what you mean about the horse burden thing. That is one of my motivations to lose. I think we can both do it. I don't know if this might help but chewing minty sugarfree gum might be an option to say no to snacks around your junkfood buddies. I know in the past I always felt a little idiotic being the 'one on the diet' and everyone knowing I was trying to abstain from the junk. It was embarassing.
I mean they can tell I need to lose weight just by looking at me so these weird issues I have of hiding it are kind of silly.

The man that owns the gym I go to told me to stop worrying about what others think and just do what I need to do. I thought that was good advice!
