Hello All,

In 2007 I hit my highest weight at 238 lbs and then in December of 2007 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. At that time I started watching my weight very carefully and by the time of my surgery (successful!) in April I was down to 214 lbs but by September of 2009 I was back up to 232.

In April of 2010 I refocused on my health and got much more engaged with SparkPeople. At that time my weight was 229 and since then I've been losing 1 1/2- 2 lbs per week and my by August my weight was under 207 lbs.

What's turned things around is a focus on being healthy and strong rather than being thin. I'm eating much healthier food and hiking and going to Bikram Yoga on a regular basis.

Last summer I set a goal of hiking all 48 4,000 foot peaks in New Hampshire by the Summer of 2011 and this has really kept me focused. These climbs provide great feedback on my progress... I can definitely feel the difference as my weight goes down and as I get stronger.

As of May 1 2011 I've completed 20.
