I have a cross on my homepage
A simple reminder to me
Of the fact that I'm a Christian
No matter where I may be

This little cross is not magic
Nor is it a good luck charm
It isn't meant to protect me
From any physical harm

It's not identification
For all the world to see

When I logon to my homepage
For the new things to see
The cross is there to remind me
The price He paid for me

Outside my window, a new day I see,

I found that this prayer helped me to lose weight to goal 30+ yrs ago. Needless to say, here I am again. I needed to keep the prayer close to my heart always. I hope it brings you comfort.

Serenity Prayer:
God grant me the Serenity to Accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference. Amen.

I'm learning to conquer "Impulses". I didn't realize how many times I have caved to a impulse, without stopping to think, do I need this or just want it. (It can be new shoes or food). Stop and consider. . . am I hungry? if not find something else to occupy your mind/time, call a friend.

"Life is short, break the rules, forgive sooner, love with true love, laugh without control and always keep smiling. Maybe life is not the party that we were expecting, but in the mean time, we're here and we can still dance..."

My Goals:
I am only 5' 1"tall so I intend to track foods I consume & exercise. I would like to lose 1 lb a week. My doctor has changed some of my meds, so I'm hoping my body will cooperate and start losing again.
Lose 10 to 25 lbs.


My Program:
June - October 09 I lost 15 lbs. and reached a plateau. I eat more fresh fruits, nuts, & vegetables. I've joined a fitness center so I can use weights, weight machines, fitness machines and do water aerobics 5 days a week.



Personal Information:
Hi my name is Rita, I'm the mother of two sons and two daughters that are grown up with families. I retired from my government job in 2003 after 24 yrs.


Other Information:
I love to dance and have taught basic ballroom dancing classes with the fellow that taught me. He isn't able to dance now, so I really miss it and the exercise I get through dancing. Dancing helps me battle depression in the winter months.

    Hi, I noticed you joined the Ruby's fat Night team, so glad to see you there, but I am going to send you an invite to another Ruby team also, It is a sister team to the Fat Night team, On Fat Night we talk about weight related issues only, but if you watch Ruby on Style network this is where we discuss so many things and we also have fun challenges, However you do not have to watch Ruby to join the team.
    I am also a TOPS member and about 10 pounds to goal, AND West Virginia is my favorite State, My family is from there.
