I am a ballroom dancer. My passion is dancing. I've recently started hiking too with some good friends and I love it. It ranks right up there with dancing on my to do list of fun activities.

My goal is to be as healthy and physically fit as I can be. Good health is essential for living an active lifestyle.

Of course, I want to lose a little weight, about 9-10 lbs right now and then I'll see how I feel at that point.

In 1997, I weighed 185lbs. I lost 60 lbs through diet and exercise. It took me 2 years to lose the weight. I have kept most of the weight off since 1999 but within the past year or so, I've crept up a little bit.

I'm ready to recommit to eating well and being as active as I can possibly be in order to achieve my goals of health and fitness in 2010!

My Goals:
I want to lose 9-10 lbs by April 12, 2010. I want to eat in a conscious manner. It is important to me to take care of myself and my body. I want to make eating healthy and nourishing foods a priority. I want to return to my previous exercise schedule of 5-6 days per week. (I have really slacked off of the exercise over the past few months.)


My Program:
I am tracking my food/calories on SparkPeople. I am making my goals public which means that I am accountable for my actions or inactions. I am working to change my eating habits so that I am, as much as possible, only eating foods that provide my body with good nutrition. I am exercising most days. My exercise regime includes ballroom dancing, hiking, walking/running on the treadmill and Jazzercise. I like having a variety of exercise options from which to choose.
