I am 27 years old and have been overweight most of my child and adult life. I am happy with many other aspects of my life and it's time to get this under control so I can be happy with myself.

I'm now at a point in my life where I'm tired of my weight having control over me. I want to feel good, I want to eat healthier, I want to become more active, I want to buy clothes that flatter my body and not hide it. I want to stop emotional eating. I want to stop being bothered by comments about my weight or what I'm eating or how I don't exercise.

My ultimate goal is to bring my weight down to 150lbs and I'm going to focus on doing that by cutting out junk food, pop (Diet Pepsi is an addiction in my world), eating healthy meals and more importantly healthy portions (and not trying to keep up with what my boyfriend eats), drinking more water, and becoming more active. It's time to get rid of the dust on my sneakers, workout DVDs and yoga mat and it's time to start focusing on me.

My whole life I have always worried so much more about everyone else and although I don't want to change that I also need to make myself a priority. If I'm not healthy and the best person that I can be I know I can't be the best to everyone else.

I am going to focus on tracking my meals, creating short term and long term goals and finding inspiration from those who are working towards similar goals to me.

I am ready to start this journey and I'm ready to work towards that new and improved version of me!

- Drink 8 glasses of water per day
- Cut down diet pop to twice per week, then eventually once per week
- Fast food only once every two weeks and then once per month
- Make a workout plan for each week
- Weekly weight in
