I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. At my heaviest I weighed 404 pounds. That was in 1999. Today (May 7th, 2006) I weigh 334 pounds. I lost 18.5 pounds of that amount in Jan. 2006, but, gained it all back.

This is my second day with SparkPeople and I am totally encouraged. I am not certain what the future holds, but I am certain that each day provides another opportunity to walk the STRAIGHT and NARROW and find LIFE.

[Matthew 7: 13-14---"Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby. For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and few are they that find it. "]

LIFE is waiting for me and I believe with God's guidance and SparkPeople's help I will find my way along the straight and narrow path. I look forward to LIVING.

Winners Are People Like You

Winners take chances.
Like everyone else,
they fear failing,
but they refuse
to let fear control them.

Winners don't give up.
When life gets rough, they hang in
until the going gets better.

Winners are flexible.
They realize there is more than one way
and are willing to try others.

Winners know they are not perfect.
They respect their weaknesses
while making the most of their strengths.

Winners fall, but they don't stay down.
They stubbornly refuse to let a fall
keep them from climbing.

Winners don't blame
fate for their failures
nor luck for their successes.
Winners accept responsibility
for their lives.

Winners are positive thinkers
who see good in all things.
From the ordinary, they make
the extraordinary.

Winners believe in the path they
have chosen
even when it's hard,
even when others can't see
where they are going.

Winners are patient.
They know a goal is only as worthy
as the effort that's required
to achieve it.

Winners are people like you.
They make this world
a better place to be.

My Goals:
I hope to gain health and wellness and strength and energy. I also hope to increase my lifespan and enjoy "living" rather than just merely "existing".

My Program:
At the moment it is all about "little" changes and becoming more "observant". Joining SparkPeople is a part of this...not eating out as much as I had and paying attention to "why" I am eating also figure into my program. Holding myself accountable and becoming more disciplined will figure greatly in how well I do.
And let's not forget: WATER, WATER, and more WATER!!!
One Day at a Time

Whatever the goal we're pursuing,
no matter how rugged the climb,
we're certain to get there
by trying our best,
and taking One Day At A Time.

"Forever" is hard to imagine,
"the future" may seem far away-
but every new dawn
brings a wonderful chance
to do what we can on that day.

God is doing a big move in the life of my whole family right now and he is setting a lot of supports in our path to help us through this journey. This is such a blessing.

I am in such an energetic mood today...I don't know boss was even laughing and has been a long time for that. We hardly did any work, we just joked around and passed the day quickly...we have these days few and far between...I told her she should be like this more often...either that or I am going to have her committed...just kidding.

It's only 82 I have been doing good at getting back on track. I watched VH1 and Celebrity Fit Club is funny but it is nice to see that people with money needs help with their weight also.

Have a great day all and talk to you tomorrow...same saprk time same spark channel!!!

Company is wonderful, but boy can it tucker a body out! Take care not to overdo it. How are things with the diet going? And your back?
Like I told Nancy, I am not back on the diet yet. I am so overwhelmed at the moment with everything I can't even think about it...I feel like if I can just get through July, I'll have it made... A LONG vacation would be SO great right about now.
Enjoy your company. Hope to see you again soon.
