I'm Christine; the can in my name refers to Canada, but it works for CAN DO, too! I've passed the milestone of 60 and want to be in great shape to meet my senior years (which I cannot believe are looming). I have been on South Beach for several months so have already dropped some of the weight that needs to go. I bought The Spark and am quite surprised that it had so much to offer despite my having been active here for awhile.

Fitness Minutes: 17,804

My Goals:
I will be happy to get into the 150's though my bmi would like to see me at 137. Too bad! My goal is to run under a 12 minute mile and I am at 11:10 right now. ACCOMPLISHED!

Both of these are accomplished. When I do a 5K, all 3 miles are at 11:15 usually. I need to think about where my weight should end up.

December 2010

I have eased off on the mile time making it enjoyable rather than a competition and have settled on 152 as a new mini-goal.

My Program:
I'm essentially following South Beach and it's been working for me. I run intervals and lift a little.

I have added stationary bike to the between run days

Personal Information:
As above, I'm a proud Canadian, though I'm less proud of our winters and head to Florida for the worst of them. I'm a former teacher, former writer and former just about everything else from my early days.

Other Information:
We are retired; our children are grown; we hae two granddaughters born in January and April nearly three years ago. In the meantime, we have the quiet life of snowbirds!
