I'm Chris, and I have to admit to being over 60. So I got my act together and lost weight I've been holding on to for a while - A Sparkfriend, QueenOftheForest, got me on to the Beck Diet Solution book, and that's just what I was needing. However, after slacking off over the summer (despite doing some 13-15 mile hikes), 10 pounds found me again. So it's back to school for the fall of 2016! Joined Sparkpeople July 4, 2009 - I am lucky to be retired and after years of putting on (with occasional small losses) the pounds, this is IT! I'm getting fit for good. I love to hike and do things outside, so I have lots of motivation. Now I'm gonna use the tools to get there!

My Goals:
Lose weight!! Focusing on 5 pounds right now, but getting to 125 would be wonderful!

Track food and exercise every day.

More fun goals - Take several backpack trips, lead more hikes, get more biking in, and keep finding something new I've never done before- TBD!!


My Program:
I hike, snowshoe, go to the gym, and bike. I hope to challenge myself more and be more active. I need to watch my portion sizes better, too!

To get more specific (which I think I need to be!) :

Eat only what I've planned to.

Do strength training or Pilates at least 2x a week
Take a hike or equivalent (eg, long bike ride, x-c ski) at least 2x a week
Get sweaty doing something aerobic at least 5 days a week
- which means EVEN if its raining!!

I live in Lincoln, CA. Married and have a lovely dog. I love to hike, snowshoe, x-country ski and bike.
