For the first 18 years of my life, weight, nutrition and fitness were non-issues. College life was a great excuse to let myself go. After grad school I entered the real world and discovered that I couldn't use school as an excuse to eat poorly and lead a sedentary lifestyle anymore! With that, and some motivation, I discovered SP.

No pills, magic exercise machines, or fad diets are going to make me healthier - only good old-fashioned hard work, willpower and motivation from friends and family. I've been sparking since March 2007 and my plan has evolved several times. I've lost 20ish (I say 'ish' because I lose and regain from time to time) lbs and am somewhat in maintenance mode. I'd like to lose another 10. However, my shape is so much more important than a number on the scale. Losing inches in my problem areas of the belly and thighs are my main interest. Ditching the flabby arms would be great too!

Fitness Minutes: 59,910

My Goals:
Get my weight into the ideal range for my height and keep it there.

Learn to love cardio and strength training, and do them on a regular basis.

Eat food with the goal of meeting my nutritional needs rather than convenience in mind.


My Program:
Cardio: 20+ minutes on elliptical trainer 5x per week
* gardening and walking are bonus cardio

Strength Training: SP-generated work outs 3x per week

Nutrition: try to stay in 1200-1550 cal/day range.
*eat as much unprocessed food as possible



Personal Information:
In my late 20s, married. Living in rural Texas but born and raised in western Canada.


Other Information:
I joined SP in March, 2007. I successfully lost 25 lbs. I've yo-yoed and gained 15 of it back. I have been struggling to re-commit in 2008.
