I am a 33 year old married, mother of 3. I am a Canadian. I just moved to Al Ain, United Arab Emirates from Beautiful British Columbia, Canada. I love LesMills Classes, and I was a member of GoodLife Fitness which I loooved so much and lost a lot of weight there. I sdly recently had to leave my beloved gym and find a way to make it over here without Les Mills (None in Al Ain) and it is VERY hard to track food here because of no labels...who knows maybe soon I can open my own gym with Les Mills and is a dream of mine.


Well I did great for a while...working out everyday on my treadmill and doing "Tommy Europe's 10 Pound Shred" and then I gave up and got bored with not having my classes and friends around for fun and motivation. I was up and down a kilo (2.2 Lbs) up and down and up and down....then the last month I really FELL off and gained a little more...then I FELL off AGAIN and gaiend a little more!

THEN: I came back for a few days after I got some AMAZING Videos and have been doing everyday, and I did those for a while...did NOT log my food and really lost my Spark...I was really down...feeling depressed...a lot of motivation, sweets all around me...wearing loose clothes in the house...just drinking sweet coffees all day and basically eating so many sweets I hardly ate real food for the longest time. I gained a bit more...not TOO MUCH Thank God but I feel unhealthy and unattractive again! Sooo MAD at myself!

SO I HAVE some great equipment here in my house, treadmill, weights etc, and I just got a Stepper like the ones in gym "The Step"and I bought my Suunto HR Monitor again so I can log accurately (I lost my beloved one in Canada). Now I have started walking with little sprints at least 10 Km a day to get me going again and I better not go back on the path I was heading because it is NOT where I want to be...we all slip it's MY TURN once again to REDEEM myself :D

SO for the next 2 weeks or so I will call my weigh "X" because I just can't get on the scale...I did it a few weeks ago...I am calling that "X" and I will just say X-# as I go along until I am comfortable that I have this and I am on teh correct path, as well as comfortable to get on the scale. I JUST DO NOT want to discourage myself...sooooooooooooooo....

I *WAS* having trouble gaining and losing 30 pounds over and over, BUT, I have finally found something that works for me! SparkPeople with it's amazing tools and support, along with my amazing gym and it's high caliber of instructors, as well as watching what I eat, have all helped me successfully reach Goal#1 and Goal#2! I hope to lose the rest to reach Goal#3!

MY DREAM is to open a Les Mills and Zumba Studio here with an indoor Running Track :) I hope i can make it a reality. The summer months here are deathly to go outside in unfortunately for a runner!

My Little Weight STORY:

I never had any problems with my weight. I was always active and didn't really think about it. I ate whatever I liked while I was younger....

In Grade 12 I was 104 Lbs.

When I met my hubby in 2000 I was 117 Lbs.

Gained a bit over the years and....

AFTER giving birth to our first son (in 2002) I was feeling HORRIBLE at 163 Lbs. a YEAR LATER (2003)

GOT a WAKEUP CALL from my DAD (Thanks Dad) and I went down to 134 Lbs. (in 2 months walking 2 hours a day and going to Curves every morning) (2003)

THEN I yo-yo'd a little ups and downs, 10-12 pounds up and down up and down but then in 2006 I got pregnant with our 2nd baby and........

OOPS! After birth (Aug 2007) I weighed 173 Lbs. and I took care of that quickly by walking 2-3 Hours EVERYDAY and within 2-3 months I was down to 140 Lbs. and feeling great.

I yo-yo'd a little in between but kept uo the walking and treadmill. I got down to 137 Lbs. and was looking really good...then........I got pregnant with the 3rd baby (Sept 2008)

OOPS! After birth of Baby #3 (May 2009) I weighed in at 186 Lbs. (My HEAVIEST while NOT pregnant) and felt so disgusted with myself...and QUICKLY took care of that...

I WENT ON "The Master Cleanse" but still ate while on it and lost 31 Lbs. in 6 weeks which brought me to 155 Lbs. (I don't recommend those bad diets but I was desperate and it gave me a head start because I started the gym a month after which helped me keep most of it off, but I did gain back 7 Lbs.)

SO I was now 162 Lbs. and I STARTED "GoodLife Fitness" Jan 5, 2010 and went everyday to classes for 3 or more HOURS a day and by Feb 21 I was 147 Lbs. but a really fit and toned shape. So I was feeling great.

I MOVED to the UNITED ARAB EMIRATES and the lifestyle change, some stress, lack of exercise, a maid doing all the work and eating the YUMMY food...over 4.5 MONTHS I GAINED 23 POUNDS!!!!!!

Came back to CANADA and joined my "GoodLife Fitness" again at 170 Lbs. and was pretty depressed! I worked out too much and was not eating good. Starving all day and eating a lot at night. I yo-yo'd between 5-10 Lbs off and on, could not get below 162 and was frustrated! :(

I met with a personal trainer and she did a Body Composition on me and we talked about diet and I was just soooo depressed and down...I HAD to do SOMETHING....

I came home :( and opened my hotmail. I was like what is this SparkPeople that keeps e-mailing me? For over a year or two I joined but didn't know what it was and kept deleting the e-mails. BUT this time...I went on...and it was JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR! A nutrition and fitness and measurement tool. I was looking for sooo long!

I MADE A NEW ACCOUNT and went from:

(Sept 29, 2010) 163 lbs.
April 22, 2011: Today I am 128 Lbs.

I will update more later with my measurements. I think I will blog it. I have been blogging all along and I have a blog which started when I joined "GoodLife Fitness" Jan 5th 2010.

To lose the 23 pounds I gained in UAE over 4.5 months!
DOWN 23 of those Lbs! -- GOAL #1 REACHED 11/10/10!

I would LOVE to lose 10 more Lbs and feel better about myself :)

After that 10 pounds I would like to lose another 10 :)

My Program:
NEW PROGRAM in UAE: I started walking at least 10km...and I will do classes on video at home. Starting to get back into running while the weather is nice here...I will update this as I get more consistant, I have to try to make it on my own without my gym. They don't have a gym which compares so I have to make my own program at home!

IN CANADA: I was a member at GoodLife Fitness and I did a lot of LesMills classes, Some Hot Yoga once a week.

My favorite LesMills classes are: RPM, BodyCombat, BodyPump, BodyAttack, BodyJam and BodyStep

I also love ZUMBA!

I was doing 2 and sometimes 3 classes a day.

I trained and ran the 10km Vancouver Sun Run which took place on April 17, 2011 and had a great time!

I am back to eating nutritious low calorie meals. Starting in the morning I am doing my food logging on here and I will be counting all calories which helps. I am excited to get back at it. I was at my HAPPIEST logging into here several tim
