Regaining my balance...
After losing my spark a while ago, I am returning to this community that got me started, and am on my way back to a (re)new(ed) me. Or me, still... only better! I cannot describe it as starting over, because I learned so much the first time around, and connected with so many, and plan to build on that further. If I am going to make it work, however, and for the long term, I have one last lesson to learn: how to find my balance.
That goes beyond the food, the exercise and the hours ...

I cannot describe it as starting over, because I learned so much the first time around, and connected with so many, and plan to build on that further. If I am going to make it work, however, and for the long term, I have one last lesson to learn: how to find my balance.
That goes beyond the food, the exercise and the hours I sleep. If any of that is going to work, I need to learn to understand what truly nurtures me. As I seek to reconnect with myself and others, to strengthen my body and regain my confidence, and to attain that balance of which I speak, I propose to be more present of moment, more aware of my body, and more attuned to what I am feeling. No doubt I will stumble, and it may be harder and take a little longer, but I come to this now, the second time around, knowing this is a journey and not a destination--a journey which I plan to enjoy to the fullest!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Following some personal challenges over the last year, I slowly came to understand that there was somehow more to me... when there was less of me. Not because the size of who I am matters, but because the size of my life, and my self-esteem, had started to decrease as my waistline steadily increased--and the insecurities, anxiety and frustration with myself along with it. I've tried many a "diet" program and learned the hard way that there's no magic formula, and no external motivation stronger than my own. So I've decided to do it for myself this time, by myself, but accompanied by this community of familiar "strangers". In setting my goals, I realized that my healthy weight loss goal, and a realistic one, is the same number as my next birthday--a fitting goal to reach, and all the more reason to celebrate once I get there!
