I have 3 beautiful grandchildren! I want to be able to run and play with them. I was in a terrible accident 7 years ago and have gained a lot of weight. It is time to stop using the accident as a crutch and get healthy again. My husband and I are starting a new journey together known to some as the "Empty Nest", so I decided to jump start it with a new healthy lifestyle.

My Goals:
My goal is to get my husband and I on track with a healthy lifestyle. I have tried to diet and exercise several times in the past, but I always give up. I am setting our goals small this time and I am so happy I found this site. We have just entered into the "empty nest" syndrome and we have 3 wonderful grandchildren. I want to set a good example for them, and do something new together as a couple.

My Program:
We are starting with cutting out our sodas, and not eating after 7pm. We are both fairly active, but we eat alot of southern comfort food. I am building a healthy comfort food cookbook on here and trying 3 new recipes a week.

Personal Information:
We live on the Sabine River in Starks, La. It is a very small town in SW La. We have a great community and I am actively involved in our VFW Ladies Auxiliary. I am married to an amazing man, we have 3 sons, 1 daughter, 1 daughter in law and 3 beautiful grandchildren. We enjoy floating down the river, mud riding and sitting around the bon fire with family and friends. We live a simple life and we like it that way.

    Thanks everyone! I am excited I am down 10 lbs. It seems kinda fast, but someone told me cutting out sodas would help drop a lot fast. I know it won't stay that way, but it sure is exciting!

    Hi and welcome. SP is great! 180 is my goal too.
    I find 1200 calories so hard to do. I've been eating 1600-1800 and losing steadily. Best of luck with your weight loss goals. We can cheer each other on!
