Happy New Year!!!!

Back in 2006 I started a Spark-journey that was an incredible ride. I lost 114 lbs, felt healthy and good about my life (because it affected everything, not just the scale or my pants size!) and even decided to gain a little bit of it back on purpose to be healthier. I made some lifelong friends and even was in a couple magazines. I maintained my new weight for over 3 years and then, little by little, I started paying less attention to my goals. FORTUNATELY, a LOT of the habits and lifestyle changes I made using SparkPeople and my attitude about myself and my weight stuck with me!

Unlike with past weight loss journeys, I haven't "gained it all back and then some." I have gained back more than I would like and more than I intend to let stay with me, but I needed to focus on other things besides myself for a while and that was the price I've paid.

But now it's a NEW year and I want the OLD me back! Last spring sometime, I ditched the sugar beastie that was plaguing my ability to stop thinking about food 24/7. I haven't gained any weight all year. BUT.... now I want to lose weight and get into better shape and I already know that using SparkPeople works, so I'm back here to give myself a little TLC. First up, tracking and drinking more water. I'm already getting enough sleep and will continue to do that. Then, once I can get rid of the backache that's immobilizing me right now, I will also start exercising regularly again.

No gym memberships. No quick weight loss gimmicks. No new workout clothes. No new exercise machines. Just a new attitude and a willingness to make myself my number one again!

Personal Information:
I am 55 and live in both Walsenburg and Denver, Colorado - the former with my husband and dog, and the latter with my 23-year old daughter in our old house so I can go into the office periodically. My 19-year old son lives with his dad in Salt Lake City, Utah.
