It is time for a change. Now that I am going into year three of my weight loss plan, I see that I need to make some changes so that I can make it to my goal this time. Now that we are becoming parents, I need to step up my game. So I am going under construction. Get your tickets now because I WILL be ready for my Grand Reopening later...

My Goals:
Now that I am going into 2009, I have a lot of reasons to reach my goal.
First off: my wife and I are expecting our first child in April. I need to set a good example as well as be in good shape for my growing family.
Next: I am still in the Army Reserves and I need to stay in shape so that I can continue my career there. I plan on being in for the long run, so I have to make sure that I am doing everything possible to help myself excel and progress.
And last but not least: I am doing this for me. I have been overweight ALL of my life. I am ready for something different. I am sick and tired of my weight keeping me from having more fun in my life, whether it be physically or mentally.
I am sick of trying on clothes that should fit only to find out that they do not. I don't like wearing size 38-40 pants and I want to be done with XXL or 2XL. I am a big guy and I want to stay that way, but I do not want to be fat and big.
I am no longer trying to build muscle,

My Program:
The focus this year is on cardio. I would like to be able to run and not get tired right away. Plus I need to burn the calories.
This is my focus from this point forward.
I am going to stray away from the heavy lifting for now. I plan on using my body weight for strength and resistance training, until I get down to below 230.
I will do light resistance training everyday of the week and I will do cardio at least three times a week. Part of my plan is to build myself up bit by bit each week throughout the winter and take it outside once it gets warmer.

2006: Great Progress
This was a great year as I went from 340 to 250 at one point. I was off and rolling

2007: Recovery
I took the holidays off and I paid for it. My weight got back over the 270 mark after the holidays, but I was easily able to get back to 250 again, but then it just stopped.

2008: Plateau
I could never get below the 250 mark. I was stuck in a plateau and I let it get the best of me. My frustration led me to eat more and exercise less and the weight started coming back on. At one point I was back over 290! That turned on the light and now I am back on the path with a new plan.

2009: TBD
I am motivated again and I guess I'll will just have to wait and see. The day I stay below the 250 mark for more than one day will be one hell of a great day!!
