3.26.19 Am back once again to help myself stay on track. I've dropped 20 lbs over the past nine months which is good, but I wasn't trying. I haven't had an outside job since May of last year as I have been home taking care of my dad, and I am no longer taking my insulin so who knows. It doesn't hurt that my dad doesn't eat much; guess I have been following his lead so to speak. I'm happy anyway!

My goals are simple...to exercise five times or more a week (minimum of walking 5 miles a week), increase my water intake (I drink entirely too much regular soda, but feel it's better than drinking diet...don't like the artificial sweeteners), and control my calorie intake by tracking my dietary intake. I'm diabetic and would like to come off my meds. I've done it before, so I know it can be done!

I have another stimulus to doing this. Don't know why my health can't be enough, but it's never been that way for me. Anyway, my 40th HS class reunion is this year. It would be nice if I could get back down to my HS weight...that's a very lofty goal, so it's not likely; however, I'd be thrilled to be closer to it than being farther away from it! LOL!! I'm only 14 pounds away from what I weighed in 2010 so that's good! I'm sure I can do better...just need to apply myself!

Georgia should be plenty hot. We used to have to cross from Illinois to Missouri a lot and back through St. Louis and sometimes it is quick and sometimes not. They are always doing construction work.

You are coping well with your dad. It will be nice for you to have some time away.

I know what you mean. I don't want to linger if I have no quality of life. I don't want to be senile, incontinent, have to be fed. It isn't my idea of living.

Hubby has to install a new dishwasher at his bosses rental property.

Rainy here too and storms on the way.

Everything is such a mess right now that I am afraid to turn on the T.V. People are not like they used to be. They are angry and blaming each other instead of who is responsible. Cooperation has gone out the window. Too many people are self-centered, cruel, and heartless and these people feel empowered and have been given a voice. Nuts running around killing people of other religions and children. It's sick.

I try to always get bacon on sale too if I can.

So glad you didn't get injured by the storm.

Yep, it sucks about the prices on everything. It will hurt poor people and the middle class. I know some people like Trump but I'm not a fan and never have been. I didn't like Nixon either. Bacon is one of the only meats I really like so high prices hurt me a lot.

I totally understand. I didn't always respond correctly and, in my opinion, neither does anyone else. Being a caregiver is a usually a hard, thankless ordeal. I also don't want to outlive my ability to take care of myself, especially if it involves my mind. My step mom died in 1997 and dad talked about wanting to die every since that time and finally did 2 years ago at the end of May. Dad lived to be 87. He got really good care or he wouldn't have lived that long.

I hope you can get outside some and relax. Caregivers need to.
