E chi non salta porta la Ternana!
I have reached my goal weight range (64-70kgs) and am probably oscillating somewhere in there, though my tracker lists the midpoint (67kg) as the end.
I had not had weight problems in my life so I was a bit disappointed that things got to the stage they did by late 2009. I decided to do something about it. It took me a year to lose 28kg and move out of the obese category through overweight and back to freakin' normal. Wheee!

I am a vegan and rarely eat out. I enjoy spending time in the kitchen and 'rediscovering' food preparation techniques: sourdough breadmaking, pickling, making sauerkraut and so on.
I don't propose to upload photos of myself at my maximum embarassment. Suffice to say that the photo on the left - me in Petrozavodsk in 2006 - shows me at around the weight I am targetting. Also, the keenly Cyrillic-eyed will notice that it's the Moscow-Murmansk train I'm gesturing to ... all aboard!
More trivia: the background photo on this page shows mangoes at the local market. They grow well here and are our biggest export crop. So the photo is to remind me to shop regularly for what's fresh and local: maximum nutrients, minimum food miles. Yeah!
Even more trivia: The page title says, 'E those who don't jump support Ternana!' It's a battle cry of my beloved Perugia football club, now languishing in the Italian Serie D. I spent a few years there and miss it very much. Typically the fans chant this while they do the bouncy-bouncy, often so vigorously that the entire grandstand shakes. So this slogan is to remind me to get up and do something active. Forza Perrugia ale'!

My Goals:
MILESTONES & REWARDS:
Start - accelerometer, bought as reward for getting started; I knew it would motivate me, and so it is :-)
90kg - set of handweights DONE
85kg - new running shoes (will need them by then!) DONE
80kg - set of saucepans (lol, gotta eat right!) DONE
75kg - Angola football shirt DONE
70kg - skin-tight lycra bodysuit (j/k ... hey, wait ...). Ok, seriously now, maybe some powerbocks. Maybe nuttin'...isn't it enough to bask in bearable lightness?
My Program:
EATING:
Fruit - fresh, local, as much as possible. I stuff about 1kg fruit a day into my furry li'l face!
Vegetables - ditto.
Grains - moderate amounts.
Legumes - at least every second day.
Nuts - carefully measured quantities.
Soy - Yeah, a little bit. Hardly ever touch the fake meats though.
FITNESS:
Cycling - I use my bicycle for a lot of my transport needs so I can rack up a few hours of cardio a week just on that :-)
Walking - 12000 steps per day minimum.
Jogging - 4 times per week, training for half-marathon in Nov.
Strength - Core & upper body workout, 3 times per week each.
I do not have a gym membership nor any home equipment apart from a mat and hand weights.
