It's got to be fun and it's got to be something I can do for life.

I joined this website in Jan 2011. In January 2012 I started building a "Self-Kindness" foundation, with daily activities to be take loving care of myself (EVEN IF it was just a reminder to take care of myself:). This was very effective. In March 2014 I returned briefly after not being on the site for over a year and a half. Today is April 14, 2016 and I updated my status again.

I've had body issues and "craziness" all my life (anorexia and bulimia and then years of binges). I lied about my weight on my original Sparkpage because I couldn't admit that I weighed more than 170 (at least, this is when I stopped weighing myself and taking any photos). So sad. But that has finally changed.

The Moose is still my totem for this year -- strength and self-esteem but, bottom line, for me, I have to focus on all that is already sooooooo good, let go and let "others" in to help, and just trust in the process.

And connect with people on SparkPeople and other mentors like Geneen Roth and the Jes Baker and Melodie Beattie AND keep perspective with people like Rachel Maddow and Bill Maher.

I finally have a spiritual connection now (even though I remain a semi-atheist if that is even possible) and that "spirit essence" (whatever it is) now guides me daily, because I let "it" in so........

upward and onward - and adding kindness daily to the world which now includes me.

My Goals:
To maintain a healthy body, mind and spirit so that I can bring goodness to our world.

My Program:
Enjoy delicious and healthy food AND eat mindfully; daily evening walks with my black lab Mojo; lots of sleep and naps; Nar-Anon; daily journal to process mental stuff; creative projects to keep me sane

Personal Information:
Bernadette Glumac
Santa Cruz, CA

left my pet care business to provide 100% care for my elderly god-parents for over a year (big stories here) and now inherited their home near the beach, moving in and starting anew.....

with my daughter in college and my relationship with my husband addict up and down, I am finally taking care of myself first - 2016 will bring many changes....

Other Information:
I have so much in my life -- lots of good and some bigger challenges - but I'm very grateful that I have a wonderful sense of spirit and tools (for me, an semi-atheist slant with Nar-Anon AND practicing Melody Beattie "least" grateful and "most journaling.)

Slowly and steadily and with fun.
