Welcome to my Spark page. I am 64 years old and a retired speciaI education teacher (non categorical preschool).
My husband and I have a 4 year old rescue beagle named Buster. He is a bundle of energy and makes us laugh. He has eerily similar traits that we saw in our last 2 rescue beagles. He's very sweet and lots of fun for us.
Our daughter, husband and her 3 children (my adorable grandchildren) live about 25 minutes from us. They also have an old rescue beagle. I am so fortunate to see them a lot. They are my sunshine!!
Our son is married to a great woman. They have his rescue beagle (see a pattern in our family?) and her two cats. They live about 25 minutes from us also (in the opposite direction!)
I joined Spark in December 2009 and, like everyone, life has thrown me some curves as well as blessed me in many ways! Although I struggle with consistency, my main struggle seems to always be with exercise. It seems I do fine for awhile and then I get off track. I always go back to the basics but it does get discouraging.
I'm trying to focus on being a healthy me with the energy to have fun with my family!

Hey there. Thanks for the bloglove. And how about that - all my dreams come true story? Of course - I had to make them happen - but first I had to know that was what I was dreaming of. Glad you enjoyed the tale.

Thanks, sweetie. I knew I was stepping out on a limb accepting this presidency - and it is probably going to suck me a little dry. But it's the biggest group of civic ladies in the county and they have a lot of power to do good for it. And I realized, as I was grousing about things .... and even having a bad dream about it ... that with help, under my guidance, we could take things up a notch. But there is a LOT about this position (president of the Woman's Club) that reminds me of the werk world and I am really done with that. I'll fill out my 2 years and step down. for sure.

Oh No! I'm SO sorry about the concussion. are you still feeling repercussions?

AS for exercise - these days the number 1 goal for me is to prevent falls and injuries. All sorts of things I just don't do anymore because ... neck, or shoulder - lower back. Just .. nope. not gonna try.

Congratulations, though on dropping those inches. That's a sweet side effect of exercise - but the real reason is to be able to keep on moving. as you say - protect your body and stay injury free.
