I want to loose weight and eat better. Be healthy overall...At 40 years old, I think its time to change and change is GOOD! I've always been a late bloomer, and now is my chance! It's NEVER too late!

I wish I could say I didn't notice the weight I've put on or that its just happend., it's been slowly creapung up higher and higher since I started college (over 20 years ago)....

Over the years, I half heartedly attempted to be more vigilant in what I ate, and how active I was. By that I mean, when asked if I wanted to join a gym and exercise with a friend, I did.. then proceeded to go for maybe 2 years, and stopped. Then about 10 years ago, since I still had the membership (yes I know, what a WASTE!), I recommitted to loosing weight. At that time, it was the heaviest I'd ever been at 190. I got a trainer, and learned how to execercie properly and eat less and eat healithly. It worked, I lost about 20 pounds, and tried to do without the trainer's help.
It didn't work. I put it back on and more over the last 10 years.

Then again, another half hearted attemp last December when I had a check up and saw I had gotten to 208! Without really trying, I lost 5 pounds in a month. Then I decided to really watch what I ate, and recommitt, that's when I logged back into SparkPeople! I'm still not excercising like I should, but I much more aware and careful with what I eat!

No more excuses, it's time to be proactive and be in control of my health. I will stop pretending what I eat doesn't matter or that I wish I could loose weight. Because it does matter what I eat and I can loose weight! I want to be around for my family and be a good example for my little boy. It's NOT too LATE!

15 lbs.- New Dress

6/7/11 New goal - Loose 20 more pounds by the end of summer Sept 22.

Exercise 2-3 time a week, even when I don't feel like it.

Haven't had sodas for just over 1 month!

No sodas!
Be active outdoors!
Read movitating articles!

My Program:
Watch what I eat, more veggies, fruits and less Carbs! Carbs are my downfall! I will give up sodas.... once and for ALL! Limit those salty snacks or cut out all together.

Hi, my name is Barbara, I live in sunny CA! I have a 3 year son and hoping to have 1 more before long, then I'm done! I want to be a good role model for him and now is the time to make a positive change!

Other Information:
I LOVE the Amazing Race reality show... someday I hope be on there, once I get in shape and can actually run!

    Welcome to SP!! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Giving up soft drinks was one of the best things that I have done for myself. I have been soft drink free since 01/18/2011. I had my last one, a RC Cola on the night of the After that first week of soda-free, its all down hill!!
