Each of these statements reflect the life long battle of weight for me. I was wonderful until the day I got married, quit playing sports, got a real job,....the excuses continue. Now after almost 42 years of blissful married life, 4 children, a full time antique business, work with non profit charities (volunteer of course), 5 grandchildren....I have to look toward a healthy future and a healthy lifestyle

In December my world turned upside down. A toliet back broke off (the whole thing not just a corner) and flooded 4 rooms of our house. We spent the next week stuggling to dry, clean and start to pack beautiful antiques, rugs, and more off to be stored and cleaned. My husband became sick at this time and on Christmas eve I took him to the emergency room. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect that would be the last time I held and kissed him. As water mitigation and packing of my furniture took place I layed sick also, not eating or really moving much for two weeks. During a zoom call with my husband on the 12th day of christmas my children noticed that I did not look good and sent my son to visit. Three days later with my bedroom and kitchen sanitized as best as they could I was starting to eat and move around 30 pounds less that before. My husband's health continued to spiral downhill and was placed on a ventilator in ICU.My daughter from Philly showed up unexpectably driving out with her boyfriend, then my son from Chicago with his wife and newest grandson that we had yet to meet and hold showed up. Then my world changed as Covid took another great life. My fourth child and granddaughter from Virginia came to celebrate the memorial service on March 30th and Easter. Life moves on.

Since Jan 22nd I have been surrounded by my children and started to put life together as well as my house from the water damages. The renovations are almost complete, and this week the restoration team will begin to bring back furniture and boxes from the house. I am still unable to work since antique shows are still not permitted in most states due to limits on numbers of attendees. I am hoping that by the end of the year most Americans will be vaccinated and that we continue on healthy distancing habits and life can form a new normal.

I have both of my vaccines now but still limit any social visits or even lengthy trips shopping. I have started on Nutrisystems and find it is an easy way to prepare meals and add as many power fuels and veggies as I can. I now have an echelon bike that I am trying to build time on also. Since my knee replacement in July 2020 I had not really walked outside much, but thanks to my daughters they got me taking short mile or two walks and then the biggie, a hike at the White Tank Mountains Regional Park. I did not believe I would ever see the waterfalls again a year ago. I am learning to use a garmin to track those walks, slow as they may be. I do walks with Yes Fit and Virtual Running Inc.

Hopefully I will be around for another 30 years and walk with grandchildren as well as someday twenty years from now or so great grandchildren.

My Goals:
I will weigh myself weekly rather than every day.

I have four goals for this year.
1: To work harder at exercising as a regular part of my lifestyle. I would like to be at a minimum of 4 days a week by July and then continue throughout the year with that goal
2: To set an organized schedule to include family time first rather than only when everything else is done. Dirty dishes can wait!
3: To take more time to visit or just drop a card to friends. Take the blinders off and have some fun.
4: Set aside money for a vacation on a regular basis. Start my spare change jar again and let it grow.





My Program:
Meal Planning on Friday morning for the entire next week. I am going to work with the Spark recipes and meal planner to relearn the proper ways of eating and nutritional value of the foods I eat. I am going to include my hubby in this program as well.

Exercise -work out three days a week at the recreation center

Old enough to know about and too young to resist.





Other Information:
I love to watch NCIS, Food Network Competion shows, Top Chef and thanks to one of my daughter in laws Big Brother whenever I get the chance.

My oldest daughter is married and living in Burke VA. She is a reading specialist in an elementary school.

My second daughter lives in Philadelphia and is working on a children's show as an actress, singer, etc.

My oldest son is a police officer, recently married to a wonderful emergency room RN. They recently purchased their first home in Apache Junction AZ and have three beautiful dogs that are begging to become police dogs. He is being a tremendous help to us at our new home being the fix-it man as well as installing and hanging all our artwork and repairing furniture that just needs some TLC.

My youngest son is a real estate consultant for a major accounting firm in Chicago and was recently married this year as well to a wonderful young lady (I joke that we finally have a blonde onoour household) who is wor

    Don't give into your temptations. They are bad and will set you back. You want to move forward, have good habits ( like eating your veggies, fruits) and come in here. We all are here for you and other members too.
